    City circle was always more expensive than central. Unless of course it changed, then changed back.

    But it also depends on where you travel from, from some north shore stations Wynyard would be cheaper than the city circle

    EG Artarmon to Wynyard (part of CC) = $3.60 whereas to City Circle its $4.40

    Its always been that way - Lib or Lab, but some will always see it as some sort of political conspiracy.

    And the fares arent always "fair". An off peak from Artarmon to the city starts at 9am whereas one from Tuggerah to the city also starts at 9am, while a train that departs at 8:53 you pay full fare, while you have to wait until 9:30 for the cheaper train.

  A ticket to "City" lets you alight at any city centre station - and if it's a return ticket, start your return journey at any city centre station.
  City centre stations are Central, Town Hall, Wynyard, Circular Quay, St James, Museum, Martin Place and Kings Cross.

  From where I live, the cost to central and city cycle are both $6

  This sucks.

  Kings Cross is the furthest away, yet costs the same as going to Wynyard.

  And Penrith to Central costs the same as Penrith to City.

  Those $2.50 Sunday rail fares matched with a Tiger $10 seat air fare are a bargain makes a day trip to Sydney sweet.

    Yep. Doin' mine in December but from Sydney to Melbourne. Just remember to get out of the train at Mascot and walk to the airport. Saves the $12.30 gate pass fee Its a pleasant 15 minute walk. And get public transport from Melbourne to Broadmeadows then bus to airport, on a 2 hour ticket costing $5.92. Get your myki card at the airport. Enjoy!
