  • You'll still need a plug converter/adaptor though.

Is it worth buying it and replace it with apple program ?

You've got until 18 October to bring one in to an Apple store with another $14 AUD

uh… this isn't an apple charger.

        • Worth a try though? For the lulz?

Note: Due to the complexity of testing required to detect an unsafe or counterfeit adapter, Apple Retail and Apple Authorized Service Providers cannot advise you on the authenticity or safety of your adapter.

        • Huh?

      • +2

Yeah, but for $14, you can probably buy a better 2A charger.

Personally I'd doubt that it really does deliver 2 amps of current at that price point.

    • Yep it's more like max 500ma or less (with lot's of interference noise).

      • bought this from aliexpress. max 800-900Mamp.. nowhere near 2AMps

  • Comments on the site mention it is a recalled Apple product. May not be safe.

If you have been keeping up to date with all the court cases between Apple and Samsung.

According to Apple apparently they cannot tell the deference between a iPhone and a Galaxy phone.

So I doubt they can see the difference between a iPhone changer vs a Samsung charger.

  • Too risky.

Just don't plug it in too close to your curtains.

The 2 items I bought from them were absolute rubbish. One item was a mains 4-port USB 2Amp charger. I tested how much current it could supply and it wasn't even 200mA before dropping voltage. It fell apart too. I wouldn't even consider another mains powered device from them from a safety point of view.

    • I bought the same 4-port USB charger from meritline and it's absolute rubbish.

I was given something very similar if not identical to this current 'samsung' charger and a capacitor inside it exploded, melting the USB plug!

Steer clear of 'cheapie' chargers, they can and do start fires, and most won't charge your device properly if you need anything more than 500mA.

If you need a spare, check eBay for second-hand mobile phones - often you can buy second-hand genuine iPod, Kodak, Samsung chargers from people who lost/broke their phone and just want to get rid of the charger for $2-3.

  • Cheap Chinese rubbish.
