Canon POWERSHOT S110 Digital Camera (Black) - $299 @ JB Hi-Fi

280

Just noticed this at JB. They must be making way for the new model.

Very good price considering it is AUS stock from a bricks and mortar shop.

Great point and shoot camera as I purchased one a few months ago when they had it for $339.

See Canon's page for full specs - http://www.canon.com.au/en-AU/Personal/Products/Cameras-and-…

Enjoy :)

  • This is a great camera if you want to be able to have some creative control, as well as shoot on full auto when you're feeling lazy. The form factor is great, it is actually pocketable.

Here's a one page review (in a roundup of many similar cameras):

  • Yes.. The S120 has recently been announced

  • How is low light photo with this compare with Sony NEX-F3?

    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/104844

    • Go with the F3 if lowlight shooting is important to you, it has a much bigger sensor.
If pocketability is important, go with the S110.

      • Thanks but nobody have that super cheap price anymore.

        • Buy the 3N, it's relatively cheap.

  • Good deal for a nice advance compact camera, but in my opinion, add a bit more $$ and get a Sony rx100.

That is not a bit :p

  • I've got rx100. Wonderful camera but it has never been cheaper than $503 ($458 if you were leaving the country).
At this price rx110 at B&M store with Oz warranty it is a very good price.

  • Had a look in JB, also saw Sony HX50V for $399.

  • at $299 I can't claim tax back when I travel can I? But if I buy a memory card with the purchase, will I be able to?

    • the answer is yes, the spend can be on multiple items in one purchase to the value of 300+

      • If is per person per receipt?

      • Well, I recently bought a samsung note 2 and an ipod touch, total price more than $300 and also bought a case for the phone all in the same receipt. At the airport, I only get the tax back for the phone + ipod and not the case. Apparently she deducted the cost of the case from the rest of the cost.

Since I am in no mood to argue with the official on that day, I just accept it. So I guess it is not necessary that you will get all the tax back unless you really fight for it.

Will they open the box and check every thing throughly? Or they will just have a quick look?

        • I believe they just need to make sure that the item on the receipt matches with what you're carrying. You don't even need to carry box if you don't want do, just have the item on you.

  • Thanks for the heads up OP. I've been keeping my eye on this camera… Waiting for another 10% or 15% off sale. S120 comes out in Oct.

  • Or Goto the goodguys at $369 and take advantage of their 30 day price guarantee.

  • This is pretty cheap.
They are $349 USD at B&H, and that's without delivery.

Other considerations might be to snag a Panasonic DMC-LX7 for $328 USD at B&H (excluding delivery). Far faster lens. A little larger and costlier but that lens is probably worth it. Hotshoe too while still remaining relatively compact.
    http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/880960-REG/Panasonic_d…

$361.46 USD delivered. (about 400 AUD at current exchangre rates).

Obviously not as cheap or small but in the same smallish enthusiast compact category with far better low-light zoom (without going into the larger and bulkier bigger-sensor cameras and primes).

  • thnx got one.
