ADSL2+ with home phone in Cranbourne Vic.

Hello all

I would like to get some advice on some affordable adsl2+ with a home phone plans in Cranbourne VIC. I have done a bit of research and most of the plans are costing around $80-$90 (plus call costs for landline)as Cranbourne is falling under Zone 2 or regional area.

Appreciate if anyone can share some information about any plans that are around $50 - $60 (including home phone rental).

I was looking for about 10-20GB of data. Prefer local landline calls to be free, low cost national and mobile calls would be a bonus.

Flexible with contract term, set up fees and modem.

I thought of just adsl2+ but i believe i would need an active phone line to get that service. Unfortunately naked dsl is not available in the area.

Thanks for any assistance.

  • Is the normal TPG bundle plan cover your area?

    • Hi there

No unfortunately. They provide broadband off net plans which doesn't come with a home phone.

  • Most regional plans will cost more. Have you considered Dodo?
    ADSL2+ $29.90 line rental + $44.90 for 20GB (5GB OnPeak / 15GB OffPeak)
=$74.80 monthly plan on a 24 months contract.

    OR

ADSL1.5 for $59.80 on same plan as above.

If I refer you, you can get a $25 sign-up bonus. PM for the code.

      Hi there

I did look at Dodo but thought 5 GB is quite low considering I will be paying $74.80 for 24 months.

      Thanks

  • Great question! I am also living in Cranbourne and have not been very impressed with the phone/internet plans here either. We are not using a home phone at all. I am still using an old 3 (now Vodafone) plan that costs $20 per month (22c for 10 minute calls to landlines ANYWHERE in Aus). Included with the $20 minimum call spend is 300 minutes of free V to V calls, 100 sms and 1GB data. A home phone just cannot match that here; weird I know. Family all using Vodafone (one $10 plan also included on my bill with same call rate 22c/10 mins), and a prepaid Vodafone mobile with unlimited V to V calls on the International plan $20 per month. For internet we currently use Virgin wifi which is having some problems with upgrading of towers (Optus?) so wouldn't recommend them. $39 for 12GB, which we find quite sufficient for our needs at present. Until our landline call rates get lower I just cannot justify getting a home phone. One thing I can say is that if I have any problems with Vodafone they have been quick to deal with it; promptly credited any errors, even on our part. Good luck with your search; shall check back later to see how you get on.

    • Hi JediJan

Yeah it does not look promising to get a reasonable broadband bundle in cranbourne at this stage. Still trying to browse through every provider to find a good deal.

      Thanks
