Nexus 4 Camera/Screen Glare

Hi,

Love my N4 to bits, but the camera is driving me crazy. Not sure if I missed something.
From time to time I would like to take photos outside, under the sun.
But it is almost impossible to shoot any photo.
Looking at the screen, all I see is myself, the glare is so bad.
And yes, I did turn the camera away from me, the lens is not looking at me.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

P/s- saw some eBay selling "anti-glare" screen, not sure if that is the solution.

  • Turn up the screen brightness manually.
Apart from that, there's not much you can do.

    • Oh that's disapointing.
It is so bad I think my N4 is a better mirror than my own mirror!

      • +1

If you have a "screen protector" get rid of it.
Those things are bloody useless. They get scratched up far easier than the gorilla glass on the phone ever will and significantly reduce screen visibility in bright light.

  • One final thing to try, courtesy Scotty in the recent Nexus 4 Price Drop Bargain thread.
    Involves rooting though.

However with Franco kernel the best thing is changing the gamma level of the display. Previous phone was a AMOLED and the IPS LCD on N4 does look washed out.
