Terraria Free on Android

20

I just spotted Terreria is free on the Google play store. It just was released yesterday. Not sure how long it will stay free. If you haven't played this game, you must, it's great fun once you get into it

    Tutorial level only?

    • Oh, it's not the full game. I'll delete this :(

  • "Deciding whether you app will be free or paid is important because, on Google Play, free apps must remain free.

Once you publish your app as a free app, you cannot ever change it to being a priced app. However, you can still sell in-app products and subscriptions through Google Play's In-app Billing service.
If you publish your app as a priced app, you can change it at any time to being a free app (but cannot then change it back to priced). You can also sell in-app products and subscriptions."

    Quoted from http://developer.android.com/distribute/googleplay/publish/p….

Free apps must remain free indefinitely. The only way 'around' this is to create a 'new' app for the Play Store with a price. Which is why you might see AppGratis apps popping up on the Play Store for free so that they don't have any lasting effect on the 'official' priced app.

    • Good explanation… it's a bit deceiving though in some cases ;)
Google play should introduce a free promo option (apps that are free under promotion should say so, so that those that pay later understand that those that got it free did so under promotion). They can also make it that if an app goes under promo within 3 days of a purchase, then the purchase is refunded. Then people won't argue and the developers can wisely choose when they want a promotion.

That's just my idea.. I may suggest it to Google.
