Accor Platinum codes

Well in case anyone is still wondering, just had the platinum status card revoked and accused of fraud by Accor. So much for customer service, especially after having 2 bookings with them in a month; one would think they would just wear it to keep a customer happy. Especially one who will hit platinum anyway.

Comments

  • Was it revoked out of the blue or did you ask for something like to merge accounts?

  • I asked re points that were not credited from recent trip. the response was "your account will be cancelled…fraud…"etc.

  • These guys are dodgy as. I'd stay away

Accor? One of the largest hotel groups in the world? I'm not sure if that's right…

      • It shocked me—the tone of the email and the lack of response to further enquiries.

  • I don't get it! Not enough information. They have given me my points for staying with Platinum membership obtained through a free offer. Were they complaining that you should not have Platinum Membership (when they give it away free in many offers anyway) or were they complaining that you used an offer code that you were not entitled to?

  • I received an email that simply stated something along the lines of: We have received your email dated xx (re missing points). We will be cancelling you account as it was obtained fraudulently using a non-valid promo code. etc etc.

Very curt. Not remotely polite. No response to enquiry for 3 days now.

That really sux. Considering that you would have had to have stayed with them to earn the points, and if you were not Platinum you might have stayed at an alternative hotel.

      • Exactly. I had already booked 8 nights in one month. Can't cancel the next stay. Gah!

  • I had the exact same experience.

Today, I tried to claim missing points and they replied by saying that my account has been revoked.

Contacting the customer service through email does not help at all, they keep giving me the same response.

I do not recall registering the membership through another website, pretty sure it was an Accor website.

I am going to call the Sydney office tomorrow.

    • I don't think many of the Platinum or Gold members are happy with the amount of 'Platinum' members that got status for free. Accor's probably had a change of heart about handing out their Platinum status so freely. :S

      • That is fine by me, but just do not accuse people of fraud.

  • Same thing happened here.

Stayed at 5 or so of their properties during a recent trip to the US with no issues. Was 1 night short of having a free stay at their Sofitel in Sydney - DAMN! Anyways, lost of card when I checked out of their Beverley Hills property, emailed for a replacement and BAM… I'm joined through an unofficial link?

Anyone had any success arguing this and having their status reinstated?

Here's a copy of their offensive response:

  • Seems like I've got my status revoked with no email confirmation or anything.

Thank god I matched my status with a few brands - so it hasn't gone to waste :)
