Charger to this phone was misplaced. A new cable was bought and used with an iPhone plug. Now phone keeps turning itself off even though it shows at say 60% charge etc. should I buy a new battery? Take to a repairer? I have lost the receipt so can't claim on warranty. (Sad face)

Lyrical do you mean if I had a genuine Bauhn charger I would have no problem?
Firstly i would take the battery out for a few minutes, then pop it back in & turn it on.
I would take it back to Aldi & say you don't have a receipt. If it comes with a 12mth warranty & the model hasn't been released for 12mths, they might help you out, since it must be within the warranty period. If you bought it on a credit card, you'll be able to get the date & place of purchase.
Aldi are pretty good with returns.
