    Price in title.

    I fail to see $44 of value here for rice, olive oil, seasoning, pan, postage. Most of us have all that in our cupboards already, hopefully excepting the postman.

    Hi Syba yes the Curtis Stone paella pan is $18 at Coles, I cant tell how big it is or what is made of and is probably made in China. The Antonio Sotos pan is 34cm enamelled steel and made in Spain.

    Justtoreply thanks for your comment ! Paella rice is a short grained rice not commonly found in supermarkets and is special for paella. It is less starchy than arborio so it doesnt clump together, and has less of a rice flavour than a long grained rice (eg basmati) allowing it to absorb flavours from the other ingredients in the paella. A paella pan is also not a normal frying pan it is very thin to allow the heat to transfer straight through to the pan and is also very wide and flat to maximise the surface area of the rice to the bottom of the pan. The seasoning is an authentic Spanish paella seasoning containing paprika and saffron. But you are right I prefer to make the seasoning myself from raw ingredients it tastes much better :)

      But you are not offering Bombs rice, the best for paella. Just some other short grain rice.

    Hi Voteoften - you are correct it is not bomba rice. Bomba rice is the best rice for paella you can buy it in Thomas Dux. The Antonio Sotos rice is a Spanish grown short grain rice and is an excellent paella rice but is not bomba. There is an article on our website about the best rice to use in paella
