Natural diamonds (and fine jewellery) at genuine wholesale prices - direct to the public

I am a diamond wholesaler with an office in the Sydney CBD. I’ve decided to sell diamonds direct to the public. I’ve written a bit about my company and information about my diamonds below.

You might be looking for an engagement ring, earrings, a pendant, an eternity ring (just a hint for all those new or expecting dads), or maybe you have a piece of jewellery or stones that you want to add to and re-set…

Buying direct from a wholesaler rather than a jewellery store means that you will be paying a fraction of the retail price. So this means that you can either spend less, or get a bigger diamond or more diamonds! It also means that you have an opportunity to personally choose your diamonds.

I can also arrange for your jewellery to be designed and your diamonds to be set at wholesale prices.
I have an office in the Sydney CBD, so please give me a call to make an appointment. It would be great if you first have an idea of what you want, and how much you were expecting to pay retail, so you have a basis of comparison and can measure the real saving to you.

I can also ship diamonds anywhere in Australia, which might be a great option for you especially if you are purchasing a certified diamond.

About the company - Diamond Bourse

We are a diamond importer/wholesaler. We have been in business in Sydney since 2006 and have been buying and selling diamonds internationally for over 40 years. We sell to numerous high end jewellers, boutique stores and large chain jewellery stores Australia-wide and have a terrific reputation in the industry.
We stock non conflict natural (ie. genuine) diamonds, imported predominantly from Israel, of which over 85% are manufactured and cut in Russia (and are therefore of high quality).

Our inventory ranges from 0.01 carats to 5 carats and over, in a wide variety of shapes, clarity and colour, both certified and non-certified.

BTW - please let me know if you think this is something I can submit as a regular "deal". I think it's a deal - just one without an expiry date!! Just want to make sure everyone on OzBargain would be ok with this.

  • "I can also ship diamonds anywhere in Australia, which might be a great option for you especially if you are purchasing a certified diamond."

Why would this be a great option for certified diamonds and not uncertified diamonds?

From personal experience, I bought a .75 diamond ring on an overseas trip and it cost me a small fortune. It was purchased from a well known reputable store. The diamond was uncertified but I trusted them as it was from a very well known store in the city. As it turned out, the diamond was not what they claimed to be for clarity and color. I'm now very reluctant from such purchases.

    • It's a shame you have had that experience. Without knowing the circumstances, please be aware that grading diamonds is relatively subjective - get a few diamond graders in a room and you will get a few different opinions about colour and clarity and other characteristics. And then you have the valuers that join in with their opinion.

It is partly because of experiences such as the one you have mentioned that there is reluctance in the industry to sell an uncertified loose diamond without a customer viewing it first. In fact, I will not sell an uncertified diamond unseen.

I sell uncertified loose diamonds on a daily basis, but only where a customer has come in to our office to view and choose it. But, there is a solution. While the transaction with a certified diamond is simpler, an uncertified diamond can be certified by a local body and/or valued by a local valuer (at a relatively minimal cost). This protects both me and you from any dispute. It is obviously in my interest for you to be happy and in your interest to get what you believe you have purchased.

I hope this has answered your question.

  • What's the cheapest "off the shelf" diamond ring I can buy from you, right now, immediately?

    $400?

  • Hi Alex. You could get a diamond ring made to almost any budget. But…it depends on many factors - type of diamond (quality and size) and type of setting (gold, platinum, silver, the weight of the metal, handmade or machine made etc). You could for example work backwards - decide on the type of setting and see what's left over in the budget for the diamond and go from there.

Keep in mind that purchasing from a wholesaler means you could get something better/bigger for your budget.

If you provide me with more details I can assist further.

  • Thanks rro for your answer.

I'm interested to know the approx. price difference between a certified 1 carat diamond and a uncertified diamond, clarity for clarity, color for color.

I think if you have an office in Melbourne, I would drop in to check out what you have available.

    • Hi Stevo. Certification basically adds a premium onto the diamond cost and value.

A like for like stone certified by the GIA - Gemological Institute of America will generally cost 15%-25% more, while one certified by EGL - European Gemological Laboratory would generally cost 10%-15% more. There are also other industry certifications. A locally certified diamond would generally only increase by the cost of carrying out the certification.

Having said this, diamonds work on a case by case basis as each diamond is unique, so please note that these are general guidelines only.

We are in Melbourne at least once a month and can bring a range of stones within your requirements to show you. Please contact me on the following if you'd like to discuss further or get some prices:

There should be great deals from this bloke cos he keeps his overheads down, mobile number, free email and a one page website.
