Flights to Hong Kong

Well, I have never booked travel before. Never been on a plane, never been to the airport to be honest.

I need two tickets, return from Sydney to Hong Kong. Preferably the Airbus A380. An preferably a direct flight, not to Brisbane, Melbourne, and than HK.

Dates: January 6th til the 22nd. Hoping to get the cheapest, I've looked around and came up with about $1095 incl. Taxes via Qantas.

I have noticed by changing currencies etc it comes up cheaper, but some people are pro's at finding travel bargains. Please do help me!

  • I think that both VA and Cathay have the A330 on that route. I have just done a quick check on all the links I used to book my trip to HK in November and that is a reasonable price for peak travel periods, especially QANTAS.

  • If you can get Qantas for $1095, grab it!

There's no way I can find such a cheap fare during this period. The cheapest one I can find is Philippine Air that cost $1494 return, but has to transit at Manila, Philippines.

    • Agreed. This is peak time and direct flights are a premium.
The A380 return leg is overnight, so maybe consider an upgrade to Premium Economy to get some sleep? The economy cabins on the A380 look pretty packed.
Some info if you want to pre-select seats etc:
