My First post ever as an ozbargain member. Please be nice.
I was out shopping with my family for the samsung series 5 "64" inch tv then i come across this one at harvey norman. I reckon this is a good price,we then went to Myer to try match the price but they said they can't do it as it is below their cost price. (no myer reward points for us >_<!)
Anyway we then went back HN and purchase the TV. (the sales person throw in free delivery too =)

As has been pointed out it has been cheaper in the past but your price is good. Better than those on staticice.com.au
Best I could find was Good Guys ($2599) but you'd have to bargain for free delivery

Welcome to Ozb. F8500 is the best plasma from Samsung at the moment. too bad it is EOL.
I just casually browsed JB a couple of days ago and was offered $2300 with delivery, was simply kicking tyre so did not bother haggling but you would easily get it down to $2200+
I feel for you mate, have no idea why everyone is saying they have seen this TV advertised for $2300. The best advertised price I have seen is $2499 from Bing Lee, they currently have it at $2999. Guys we are talking about the 64F8500 not the 60F8500 aren't we? If so please tell me where it's advertised for $2300. Only thing I will pick on it's a series 8 not 5.
For those who said the price to be $2300 or even $2k for this TV, you guys may have mistaken with the 60" version. For the 64" one, the cheapest deal so far is $2156 but it never go down to $2k. This 64" is normally advertised for $2499 in Binglee or $2999 in JBhifi :/
oh and for those who have access to Costco, they are having this model for $2489, not that cheap but you get Costco's warranty :)
Wow, haven't these dropped in price in just a few months! I only hope that the F series Samsung plasma isn't as buzzy as previous models!
$2400 @ jb hi-fi liverpool inc 5 year extended warranty and delivery sat 28/9
This has been as cheap as $2,300 (catalogue price with BingLee), with some Whirlpool'ers picking it up for about $2k.
(BTW: This appears to be 'the' TV to buy… So good pick on the model, but I'm sure they'll be back down around $2k soon enough).
