or spend a bit more and get this?

    http://www.jbhifi.com.au/phones/lg/optimus-g-4g-black-sku-38…

I managed to get it for $360

      or spend a bit more

That's a very slippery slope… Next thing you know, you're just spending a bit more and getting a 5S.. :P

      • Well have a look at the
        comparison link.

        http://www.phonearena.com/phones/compare/Samsung-Galaxy-S-II…

If you compare the spec sheets, I think it's worth spending $60 - $80 for the extra benefits you get from the Optimus G.

        Quad core
        2 gigs of ram
        IPS screen
        32 gigs storage

Only problem with the Optimus G is the camera is meh and it doesn't have expandable storage.

It should have been this price 6-12 months ago…(forgot when it came out). And there should only have been a MAXX version!

    • Oh man, I would have been ALL OVER that Maxx, real shame they didnt offer it here

      • Yeah, I bought a Razr Maxx over when I was in the states. absolutely love it.

  • This vs Lenovo p780? gsmarena ebay $284AUD, can be gotten for ~$240-250 from tmall if you can read chinese (quad core 5.0in 4000mah battery)

    • I am afraid I cannot read Chinese. Want to upgrade to a bigger, 4G Android, is the Lenovo 4G?

      • No it's only 3G, I don't think 4G dual sim phones exist yet.

  • Is the bootloader locked?

    • I believe the Australian/Telstra versions of the Razr range are unlocked compared to the rest of the world.

      From http://ausdroid.net/2012/10/22/warranties-and-bootloaders-wh…

"After all, in the United States, Motorola have produced the Droid Razr HD Dev Edition (despite its extra fun name, it’s the same phone) that has an unlockable bootloader, but taking advantage of this feature will void the device’s warranty. Telstra are trying the same policy here – they’ll unlock the device, but only if you agree to void your warranty."

      • You can unlock yourself anyway. But when there is no custom rom available yet, what's the point to unlock? It is rootable anyway.

  • What's the diffn between LG optimus g e973 and e975?

    • 3G Network
      HSDPA 900 / 2100 - E975
      HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100 - E973

      4G Network
      LTE 800 / 900 / 1800 / 2100 / 2600 - E975 (market dependent)
      LTE 700 / 1700 - E973

      • Note the Optimus G (Telstra version) is not 3G HSDPA 900Mhz compatible

  • None left in the E burbs of Melbourne that I can find…

  • Very limited stock I managed to get one from Roselands store in Sydney only one left there.

  • Parkmore (Keysborough) has 2 on the shelf

Reasonably good deal, very similar spec and price to Nexus 4 16GB.
    - Nexus 4 has better CPU and ram
    - Razr HD has better battery, SD card slot and 4G

I would choose the Nexus 4 since the Razr is still on 4.1 JB.
    Moto updates are super slow.

  • Damn, bought this less than 2 months ago for $498. :(

  • Got one from Rockdale which I rang earlier today to have the set aside for me. They look like they may have had more but you might like to check before going.

    needs another $100 off

  • I've got the RAZR M. Which is the smaller version of this. 1 word to sum up my opinion of the best phone I have ever owned.

    Flawless.

  • Is there a reason to get this over say the Nexus4 ($299)?

    • +5

      no, go nexus 4

    • unless you really need 4G

  • +1

Apparently a solid phone (kevlar back) with sensational battery life.
Not sure it's worth a change from my S3 but…

So whats the crappest phone right now? Iphone 5Sand galaxy s4?

    • Crap and over priced

  • Got nothing much really on I9305 LTE - http://www.versus.com/en/samsung-galaxy-i9305-s3-lte-vs-moto… maybe 'bout 20% cheaper, but to 1 third in diminished performance.

  • One handy feature it does have and does not get mentioned much is according to Motorola it is Water Repellant (not Waterproof):

Your phone is water repellant, and can withstand a 7-inch rainstorm for 10 minutes. So, your phone is protected from life’s little challenges like that sudden rain shower, spilled drink, or splash of water. However, water repellent does NOT mean water resistant or water proof.
If your phone gets wet or dirty:
Wipe with a soft cloth and shake to remove excess water from the entire phone, especially the screen, speaker, and microphone ports.
Allow your phone to air-dry for at least 1 hour before using it again.
Your phone isn't indestructable. We've tested the limits and know that you'll break it if you:
Submerge it or leave it in standing water.
    Take it in the shower.
    Put it under running water.

  • Great phone - I've been using one for about 10 months on Telstra.
