Samsung Mega 19205LTE 4G vs I9200 (3G?)

I'm feeling very out of touch…

I'm looking to buy one of the Samsung Mega 6.3's, but I dont know which version is the correct one to get? I'm an ex KoganMobile sim user, now with AldiMobile - which are (were in Kogans case) both on the Telstra 3G network.

Will either phone work with Aldi now?

What if I move away from Aldi (or they stop offering mobile service with Telstra 3g), and I have to go with another network - will either phone still be compatible with Telstra/Boost/Optus/Voda (in that order)?

Surprisingly to me, the LTE4G device costs less, by about $20.

Is there anything else I should be aware of?

For the usable life of this phone, I don't expect to need super-fast 4G access - ive always been happy to stay behind the game on that one, but dont really want to be locked out of other networks should Aldi close down their mobile services.

Thanks.

    I'm fairly certain both phones have 3G quadband

    Here are specs lifted from the Kogan website:

    ======================

    Non LTE version

    2G Network (MHz)
    GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
    3G Network (MHz)
    HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100

    =====================

    LTE version

    2G Network (MHz)
    850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
    3G Network (MHz)
    850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100
    4G Network (MHz/band)
    800, 850, 900, 1800, 2100, 2600

    Basically if the phone supports quadband 3G, then you have all bases covered and it'll work on any Aussie network.

  • Thanks!

  • The 3g one has an FM radio - otherwise it's just the absence of 4g as the difference.

    It's a cool phone, Big.. So you might want to go to jbhifi and try one out before buying online.
