Quick, easy mop - Any advice?

Hey guys,

As I'm sure many members are aware, mopping the house, especially the kitchen is challenging chore.

I've been using a commercial-style mop, with the long strings, and a bucket, but find I'm dragging the dust, etc, around when cleaning.

I'm wondering what you guys use.

At a plaza yesterday, a guy was selling a 'miracle mop' with a PVA head, such as on this link:

Anyone have experience with such a set-up, or do I just keep on keeping on.

i vacuum before mopping. The vacuum gets rid of the dust and hair etc and the mop just cleans up the mess from spilt liquids etc.

It takes twice as long though.. sigh

    • That's exactly what I do, too.
There's nothing miraculous about a mop. You still have to use it.

  • Aldi was selling these a few weeks back and some of the bargain sites might have them as well.Bought 1 mop with a spinning drain and 5 replacebale heads for less than $40 last year.cleans really clean, no streaks.I put in some baking soda and sometimes a few drops of eucalyptus oil.Really shiny, non greasy, clean floors Looks very similar to (if it isn't ) this http://inspect.cudo.com.au/adelaide/say-no-to-dirt-with-a-36…

  • Get an Enjo mop. They are fantastic. Get a sweeping pad and a mopping pad to suit your floor type.

I prefer these mops from the traditional ones. Easy to use. I use these for everywhere in the house. They sort of act as a broom for dust. I just dunk, strain and keep going. The long strandy one for only the bathroom since I don't mind the excess water there and since there's little dust there.

  • Thanks guys..

I'm still unsure which way is the best (in a time-friendly manner).

    Will keep searching…

I use the Oates microfibre mop with the light blue pads. Its very affordable. I usually vacuum first but if you want a quick spruce just wet the mop under the tap and use it in a sweeping motion.
