    • How do we get around this?

      • +3

Just put in a US address…one without sales tax…like Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, or Oregon ;)

        • Thanks, Keene, New Hampshire just got a new resident!

I'm staying at a hotel in Dover, DE tonight.

        • +1

Just put university of Oregon. ;)

  • How do I go around the geo gate thing, says I need to be American. I've got a VPN to USA, will that be enough?

    • +1

Just add a random US billing address. For example, I use this:
      APPLE INC
      1 INFINITE LOOP
      CUPERTINO, CA 95014-2083
      United States
      Phone: 18006927753

      Works perfectly.

      • I'm pretty sure CA has sales tax. You may want to choose a different state so you don't have to pay it.

love the new xcom graphics and all, hate certain changes and unfair scenarios,

    • when you spot the aliens, they get to move into strategic spots on your turn and will save the next turn to gun you down

    • one move one action is too restrictive for some fun gameplay (remember those days when you could arm a soldier with timed bombs and go on jihad? fun times indeed)

    • psionic abilities come in too late in the game to be of any use

    • too little soldier count

For those who have problem completing the game, at the beginning just build 2 layers of satellite rooms and keep launching, forget research labs and workshops as each satellite gives additional scientists and engineers. In late game you'll be overwhelmed with money and plenty of personnel to complete all research and manufacturing easily.

Don't complete objectives as it advances the story, in which the difficulty ramps up quickly. Keep doing side missions and the aliens will stick to having 3 hp, keep spamming grenades since it is 3 hp damage aerial effect plus it NEVER misses.

Snipers are one of the best (cheap) class, always take gunslinger and double shot

    • ^I agree with this except grenades. Equip a SCOPE instead and you'll have just as much luck, and you'll get the weapon fragments as a bonus. I always run out of them. If you play the Slingshot DLC and take down the battleship fairly early, you'll never run out of Elerium or alloys.

Thanks for posting, fantastic deal, exactly what I was after for my collection not that I will ever play it but just feeds my Steam addiction :)

  • is there multiplayer, is it good and popular?

    • +1

      Yes.
      YES.
And I've never waited more than 5 minutes for a matchup.

      • thank u good sir

  • Thank You OP, definitely a bargain. I have been playing the xcom series since I was in high school such an awesome games.

  • great price and with the expansion coming soon this will be pretty good for those who haven't yet gotten into the new game.

  • Just bought the game not knowing what it was…. I guess I'm going to find out :D

    • And you'll continue playing it forever

  • A great game, not without its flaws. Most due to the tight budget the game was built with.

Sad to hear the expansion "enemy within" won't be adding any new story missions just extra tech and upgrades, with new maps spliced into the vanilla rotations and apparently only 2 new enemy types which are just armored versions of pre existing aliens…

    • Yep, and it's $50 for the privilege. I rarely pay $50 for any game let alone some pretty average DLC. Absolutely love the game but I'd pay $10 tops for Enemy Within

  • Thanks so much! Just bought and downloading now. Really Awesome post. :)
