MyRTA - What does it mean? 7 Owners or 2 Private owners?

Hi Guys,

The following is a snippet from MyRTA records for my Camry.

The records indicate there have been 7 registered operators in NSW.

Does it mean 7 owners?

The record also indicates that the car has been held privately twice.

Did this car had 2 private owners or 7 owners? Please clarify.

Thanks

MY RTA

My guess: operator is any driver named on the TP insurance, e.g. family of the owner.

    • Thanks …. that's what I thought as well

I'd say the other way. There are 4 operators listed, and another three that fit into one or more of the periods listed above, most likely the first 12 years. I don't think I've ever listed names on a TP policy, just age of the youngest regular driver

    • Thanks, is the first 12 years a single ownership? or multiple? What do you think?

    From http://www.rms.nsw.gov.au/publicationsstatisticsforms/statis…

    "Registered Operator
The person or organisation whose name appears on the certificate of registration and who is considered responsible for the vehicle when it is on roads and road related areas. The registered operator of a vehicle may be the vehicle owner, however, this is not always the case. Being identified as the registered operator on a vehicle's certificate of registration does not constitute proof of vehicle ownership."

    • Thank you
