My house gas ducted heater was not working last couple of days. I got a technician to come in to have a look and they said that the ignition unit is not working and they charged me $770. The parts itself is $550.I have gotten them to change and when I search online for the part it only cost USD 107. I think got con by the technician. I have given him a check which I do not think he has bank it yet. Can you please advise what can I do further. I really felt cheated.

Call up your local consumer authority for advice. Could be unconscoinable conduct.
a new circuit board for a gas ducted heater is normally around $580 so i don't think you have been ripped off always get 3 quotes anyway
as you mentioned, the part itself is US$107.
how much is it in Australia? Please remember that you are in Australia, not elsewhere.
PS: I am not referring to the currency exchange. ;)
you can't really do a whole lot at this stage.
for future reference, get quotes and research prices prior to going ahead with the work
