Mint-Tec Dual Zone Wireless Qi Charging Mat. $79.99 at Costco Docklands

30

Dual zone wireless qi charger (charges two phones simultaneously). This seems to be a decent price for the twin charger, as I paid the same amount for the single charger version from JB not long ago, and even the wireless charging card RRP is around $29.95 by itself (not that anyone here would ever pay RRP right?)

Full details here: http://mint-technology.com.au/items/istyle-dual-qi/

It comes with a wireless charging card for either a Galaxy S3 or S4 (there are two different packages to choose from) , which you install underneath the battery cover. I have one installed in my sister's S3 and it works like a charm. http://mint-technology.com.au/items/istyle-qi-charging-card-…

I can confirm that it works well with both a Galaxy S3 and Nexus 4.

The light on the front illuminates red when charging, and changes to blue when charged. It also has a 2.1A usb output on the back which comes in handy for charging tablets such as Nexus 7 2012.

I can't comment on how long the wireless takes to charge since I usually just leave it on overnight, but there does seem to be a "characteristic" where it'll sometimes stop charging completely once the phone is fully charged. It's happened about a half dozen times now, so my phone will be at 80-90% in the morning occasionally. It might be an overload protection, but I don't really know. I have this on my bedside table and the Kogan one installed in my car, so my phone is never really in danger of running out of battery these days.

  • Does this charge 2 units at once or just 1?

    • 2 at once wirelessly, and potentially a third via the USB out

        • Aye. Dunno if it's a "bargain", but it's pretty decent quality for a reasonable price when you consider the features
