    DICK SMITH ELECTRONICS & POWERHOUSE have PLENTY of these modems.

    How many of you trust Unwired to refund you money?

    I don't.

    Web page says they refund $50 for the standard modem, and $80 for the prepaid modem. This differs from the original post.

    Also, modem must be purchased between 02/02/2009 to 30/04/2009.

        Hi, alexportnoy, please help me!

        After read this deal, i bought an unwired modem and started using it today, since i am moving house and it could be a good way to avoid any time without the internet. But when i in Unwired home page again using Unwired account, i actually can not find the $49 deal page, the only thing i could find this the $99 after cash back.

        Could u find the direct link of that $49 deal? (http://www.unwired.com.au/get/cashbackpromo.php links me to $99 after cashback). Thanks.

    The university of melbourne has had this deal for students for a long time ($50 no cashback needed), however its not really that great when the plan costs are almost as much as 3g networks which have better coverage. Also on prepaid all recharges only last for around 30 days so you have to keep paying to use the service. I think that 3's $149 12gb deal is better as it lasts a full year and has better coverage

      With their prepaid plans you don't "have to keep paying". I bought one a while back to use until I could get ADSL. Now I keep it as a backup in case ADSL ever dies. I don't pay anything per month, I'll only top it up if I ever need it.

      The university of melbourne has had this deal for students for a long time ($50 no cashback needed),

      University of Technology, Sydney NEVER offered $49 PREPAID modems, until now.

      The only $49 modems that were offered were PLAN-ONLY modems, which required a credit card which many students do not have.
