Spring is coming and with it all the pollen and dust so I was looking at buying an air purifier for the house. This air purifier is highly rated on Amazon and has 4 layers of filtration, including the HEPA filter and UV. What I also like about it is that the design includes a rinsible pre-filter which helps reduce replacing the HEPA if you regularly clean it or if your house is very dusty. Ships to Australia

Charcoal Filter
HEPA Media Filter
UV Bulb
Rinsible Pre-Filter

  • They have other models that are permanent filters…and this requires a step up transformer as well right since its designed for the US?

  • my room is full of dust all the time, does anyone know if this will help remove the problem?

    • You need to clean your house more often.. Only solution. Otherwise, dust is unavoidable.

    • My rooms full of dust too. Which is why I'm looking at getting one.

I don't know about this device but I can very highly recommend the Daikin MC707 (or newer) series.

I did a huge amount of research on air purification and went with this.

comes with 7 years of filters (although, it's looking to last 15 years with my replacement rate)

it does a really really good air clean with great modes.

it's still whisper quiet after 3.5 years or so of use.

it has an automatic smells sensor, let off a slight fart and it'll ramp up the scrubbing (if you want it to).

It's easy to maintain and clean, and has good technologies.

I got it from Air Pro in Brisbane for $400, but their website isn't up, so maybe they are out of business.. dunno.

sounds like a fun game to play with the family…
who can get the air purifier to run the fastest..

      • Agree with stichy Daikin is worth the extra $ I have a Daikin as well, helped with my sons asthma issues. Bought mine from penair.com.au, they are $345 plus shipping.

      • where did you buy your Daikin MC707 from? I couldn't easily find one online.

This, or a wife to get rid of dust? At least you only spend once with this.

Dusters don't have HEPA filters.. so a wife will generally just aerate the shelf-dust, allowing your lungs to become the HEPA filter.

  • Been wanting a 6-layer Daikin but that's probably overkill cause we don't have pets. The price looks right with this. Think I'll buy this. Thanks op

  • These solve the dust problem as long as you have it on and it 'aerates' the room.

Vacuum cleaners vacuum your floor, cloths are to wipe the dust from your furniture, an air purifier is to clean the dust from the air which helps cut down on cleaning elsewhere.

It's no magic bullet but they are brilliant! I even know some people who swear it makes the air a couple of degrees cooler inside.

I have a Sunbeam air purifier but their customer service sucks a goat

  • Does anyone know if this will clean up cigarette smoke and save others in the house passive smoking?

    • Still smoke outside, but I noticed when mine was brand new it eliminated alot of smells around the place. Some of them filter down to 0.1 micron, so pretty damn small!

  • How big are these things .. its hard to tell if they are the size of a USB HDD or a Pedestal Fan.

  • I have been looking for an air purifier for a while. Was looking at 3m filtrete air purifier and tried to get one in AU. Apparently 3M doesn't distribute these products to AU (but in US, UK, TW etc…). I really don't understand why. It is said that 3M filtrete technology is more efficient and quieter than HEPA. Also the size of the purifier is smaller… Anyone has a clue?

  • Is this 110v or 240v?

Unless you're a smoker or have people with asthma, wouldn't get one if you don't have kids yet. Let them grow up with a bit of dust and dirt, will make them stronger in the long run.
