Softphones

I've been using Eyebeam as a SIP client for many years, with MyNetFone, but it hasn't been updated for years and I feel like looking at something else. I do recall trying many softphones many years ago and it was a pretty sad state of affairs.

So which Windows desktop SIP clients are people enjoying using these days? Paid or free.

    3cx is what I use

    • I did have a quick look at 3cx softphone but it kept on complaining that it couldn't find the Phone System component (however indicated it would work without it).

Do you use the 3cx mobile client as well?

      • I use 3cx both at work and at home with Pennytel and MNF. The reason I chose 3cx is because it supports multiple accounts. Other software like eyeBeam requires professional version (paid version) to support this feature.

I also use the smart phone client briefly but when MNF released their sip client I stopped using it.

  • I've been testing out Blink, MicroSIP and VOP Nano, all free but only VOP Nano could import google contacts from a csv file.
