Anyone ever bought an iPhone from qworld.co.nz

Q world are selling iPhones for way cheaper than the RRP. They are also offering free shipping to aus. Just wondering if any one else has heard about this website and knows if this is legit.

I tried ordering iPhone 5s gold 32 gb and they sent me an invoice for NZ $ 849 asking for a Nz $ 350 deposit.

Any thoughts ???

the site doesn't load for me using firefox. it appears to be based on a wix template. the domain was registered on 2013-08-07. you should be cautious, especially so if they want a deposit into a bank account.

  • Thx @mattgal..offer was too good to be true.

  • @gaurangmp how'd you find out it was too good to be true?

  • The site is actually owned by MyGroup and if you use the qworld address in your browser you will note it changes to mygroup address.

MGL as they are known sell franchises and qworld is a telecommunication franchise holder which sells telecommunications using 2degrees as their telecommunication provider for mobiles at least. Note they also resell landline / broadband packages and I do not know who they use as their provider for that part of their business.

If you are really concerned and want to check qworld out I suggest you talk to Dave the owner of that franchise and even go and meet him and take it from there, if you are in Auckland.

I am aware that MGL maintain his web site for him as He is too busy managing his business. MGL and QWorld were at the Franchise show here in Auckland recently at the ASB Show grounds and he had a special for IPhones and Samsung phones and appeared to be doing a lot of business with people who came to the show.

So if they were a scam or something I think there would of been a very large out cry if they had not delivered on what they were promoting.

I am NOT an employee or a friend of Dave the owner but like everyone else I was really interested in what they were promoting as I come from a telecommunication background myself and love people trying to make a success for themselves.

Personally I do not have an issue with the deposit side of things because they need some commitment from the buyer as they are expensive phones to buy and they do not hold stock or have a retail shops, everything is done online or via phone or face to face.

Great that you are err on caution but I would go to the horses mouth as well as asking around like you have done.

  • Gaurang M Patel … the same Gaurang M Patel that is being sued for $200,000 by a sister company of Qworld? … gosh, I wonder whether you have a vested interest in posting lies online.
