$1300 budget for PC

Hi Guys,

I have a budget of about $1300 for a new PC.

I have always been a MAC boy but i have gotten into CAD and want a computer that can render fairly well.
I would also like to use this for a bit of cheeky gaming also.

What would you recommend? I much prefer intel over AMD..

I am so lost with options of different parts.. Thanks!

    CPU = Intel i7-4770 – $349
    MOBO = Gigabyte H87M-D3H – $109
    SSD = Samsung 840 EVO Series SATA3 250G – $185
    Memory = 8G Kit 2133 G.Skill Ripjaws-X or Ares, doesn't matter – $98 or $99
    GPU = Nvidia 760 2GB MSI-TF $319
    PSU = Antec HCG 620 – $105
    Case = Coolermaster SGC-1000 – $94
    DVD = SATA DVD RW Samsung – $18
    WIFI = PCI-E TP-Link WN881ND – $18

    Approximately $1300. All prices from http://www.msy.com.au/Parts/PARTS.pdf
    For CAD rendering you actually need Nvidia Quadro workstation cards but MSY don't sell Quadro cards. If you need Quadro for CAD, try the Quadro 600 for $199.. Just take note the Quadro isn't built for games but purely for 3d modeling only.

    Doesn't include Windows. You can also swap the Antec HCG 620 for a much cheaper Corsair VS550 ($65) for -$40 saving.

  • CAD or CAM? If CAD any Intel cpu 's included GPU will be fine.

  • Thanks for the replies guys!

    That helps a lot :)

  • Why pick such fast ram?

    • It's good for you.. Faster RAM = better performance from the CPU.

      Well, what would you rather have then? 1600mhz RAM for $96 or 2133mhz RAM for $99?

      It's a bit of a long read, but the TLDR version is that you should get fast memory since they cost just as much as slower RAM.
