First post in OZbargain although I have been visiting this site daily.

Product Information

The Belkin TV Plus is a digital HD media streamer that has been designed to work through a mobile application. A person will be prompted to download an application to their phone, which will allow them to watch television while on the go. This is done through a remote access feature that is available on this wireless media streamer. A person will be required to have a broadband connection or Wi-Fi in order to access the feature on their phone. This makes it a convenient device for those who travel and want to catch up on their favorite television programs. The Belkin TV Plus is a digital HD media streamer that can also be connected to a home theater system with composite and component inputs. The Belkin TV plus wireless media streamer may also be connected to a digital cable box, DVD player, or satellite receiver. Television may also be recorded using this device. This will allow a person to watch television and moves even in an offline status. The device is compatible with Mac, PC, Android, and iOS devices and there are no additional monthly charges.

I have been using SlingBox Solo and SlingBox HD Pro and comparing to Slingbox, I saw that Belkin @TV Plus allow more than one client to connect simultaneously (SlingBox can only connect 1 client at a time.

Here are some advantages of Belkin @TV Plus compare to SlingBox:
- TV Plus can connect to multiple clients simultaneously
- TV Plus does have in-built wifi
- TV Plus tablet app is free, and mobile app is paid but much cheaper than SlingBox

With this price, I have ordered 1 unit to have a play….hope I will be satisfied :)

    • The review seems to be a bit unfair when it compares between Belkin TV Plus to Plex
TV Plus is a standalone device which can connect to video source, while Plex is a software which stream out media files from computer

If there's a need in comparison between similar products, in market similar products include SlingBox and Vulkano.

Besides, streaming quality on mobile network also depends on the upload speed of the home internet. I don't think an ADSL or even cable connection can support good quality streaming capability as Australia major ISP only provide 1Mb or 2Mb upload speed

Unless there's NBN connection at home, then upload speed can be reaching up to 40Mb, and will definitely have good streaming quality when working with a 4G network mobile.

      • I had the same thoughts about that with obviously the home network constraints and 3G. I think the lack of hdmi is the biggy here.

    • Wow, the review is really bad.

      • I reckon that review is a bit unprofessional and bias
Better read customer reviews from Amazon
        http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-TV-Plus-Television-Anywhere/pro…

The review even mention that the device size is huge, and you can't even find a similar product in the market which has a much smaller size

(Apple TV is a totally different product…)

  • Will this work with a Freeview set top box? Like the ones from Dick Smith?

How can one change the channels remotely?

    Can someone please clarify?

    • IR blaster watch the youtube

  • not hdmi ?

  • Can you connect FTA to this? Or would you need a set top box in order to get FTA? Doesnt seem to have an antenna connection. Just composite and component includes which suggest that another box is required (eg. cable or dig STB) to capture the actual feed

    • It needs to be connected to a set top box of which I think the website has which ones it supports.

  • Hmm…this or Vulkano better?

    • They are the same. The Belkin is a rebranded Vulkano Flow.

The Vulkano Flow can be bought new on Ebay for $65 + post. With postage to Melbourne the Flow is $1.90 cheaper, depending on postage to other areas the Belkin may be cheaper for some.

This deal is not expired yet.

      • Seeing as they are rebranded. Would the build quality be the same?
