Just got an email from Hoyts Kiosk with the news that they are ending their free rental Wednesday in December. Here's the relevant info:

remember when Oovi gave you a free dvd hire EVERY week? 4 x a month was perfect for me! then Oovi machines everywhere were being replaced with Hoyts Kiosk, and soon after that offer became once a month, and now nada, zip, zilch….

Hoyts are getting greedy. Another one to add to my very long list of of EVIL corporations.
In the Brisbane City mall, there used to be a really nice old Hoyts cinema, but they closed it down about 4 years ago. The building is mostly abandoned still except for a coffee shop at the entrance :( The triumph of ugly commercialism over old world values.
Why isn't there a Spotify for new release movies and tv shows?
