From November 1 until November 10, specially marked Chrysler 300Cs will be in Melbourne, ready to take you on short trips around the city. That's right, for 10 days, you can request a Chrysler 300C on-demand and ride for free!

RULES OF THE ROAD

• Demand will be heavy, so free rides will be limited to 2 per person, no extra stops and have a time limit of 20 minutes per trip. (They won't throw you out or charge you if its over 20 min, eg. 30 minute)
• Cars will be available from 8am to 7pm each day (except Sunday - which starts at 9am).
• Free rides are limited to the inner city - no airport trips!

      They had a Windows Phone version too, but it was bad and I believe they pulled it because of negative reviews.

    You download an app (linked in the OP now) called uber which calls a driver to ur GPS location.
    You are best off graabing a referral code from here (mine is an excellent choice lol) http://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/uber_private_driver_20_refe…
    which will give you another $10 uber credit, then go to promotions and put in the UBER300C code

  Uber is great. Nicer cars, timely, invoice sent to your email as soon as you get off the ride.
  and heaps of promotions like this that you get free rides.

  Caught a ride this morning, and it was great. Inside is really comfortable, air conditioned, driver is friendly. You should give it a go.

  anyone know if the free rides would work for a ride from say, Flinders to Jam Factory? Or somewhere else around chapel st. etc?

    Why wouldn't it? It's well within their coverage area

    EDIT: It was out in St. Kilda & Richmond on Friday.
