[Price Match] Google Nexus 7 Wi-Fi 32GB (2013) $249 from JB Hi-Fi @Brisbane (with Receipt!)

Moved to Forum: Original Link. MOD: Price Match is not a bargain as per our posting guidelines. Original receipt has been posted before which was a price match Kogan -> The Good Guys -> JB Hi-Fi. Note that the price might not be reproducible in other JB Hi-Fi stores.

Boys and girls, as promised, receipt is attached!!

Edited: Extended warranty and cover are my own option!! It does not form part of the $249 deal!!!

Think, even if the warranty and cover is part of the deal, you can always refund it the next day and keep the tablet… THINK!

I printed out an price matching invoice from the internet and went to JB and got the deal without question ask!! Never try never know!

  • You are joking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now let the search for price match begin!

  • Do people do price match from a uploaded receipt at all?

    • Tried before on OW and bigw, most stated it is particular store clearance and not allow to price match.
unless it's catalogue special and with stock…..

    • I did exactly the same, printed out an invoice from the internet and went to JB, and got the deal!!

why did you buy extended warranty? lol.

    • +3

I think the salesperson must've negotiated him into it otherwise no $249.
      so its not REALLY $249.
unless op just wanted it lol

      • I always have extended warranty on all my gadget, so that I can swap for a new one when it comes to 2 years.

        • +3

You do realise that you've thrown money down the dunny. Educate yourself re: Australian Consumer Law Consumer Guarantees.

        • That's my option cheers.

        • +1

PinzVidz is right. You get 2 years warranty anyway, why purchase extra?

You basically got it for $304 since the extra warranty is worthless.

  • In my past experience if you buy additional stuff like extended warranty and covers and screen protectors etc the price of the tablet goes down if you walk into jbhifi tomorrow asking them to price match they probably wont without the additional items but worth a try

  • 249 you must be kidding!!! How did you get it?

    • Refer to the edited post cheers

Price Matching is not a bargain!
Judging from you receipt you problably manage to price match a Nexus 2012 Price at The Good Guy for a Nexus 2013 at JB.

Not sure if the people at JB made a mistake or they are willing to sell it at this price consider you also pay $55 for extra warranty and buy a $30 cover from them that would cost $10 on ebay.

So as per Ozbargain rule and guideline this is not a deal. However if i am wrong then tell me the whole truth how you got this price and i will happily revoke my neg.

Refer to the edited post. Cheers.

      • May be you should upload the invoice you use to price match?
I am 100% sure you use a 2012 model receipt from the good guy to price match which is a scam.
And price matching receipt deal are not allow anyway.
You can post price match deal but only to Advertise deal. In this case you post the advertise deal and link the store you price match with.

  • So you walked in and got it at this price?… where is the story that usually comes with these kind of deals.

    • Address of the store printed on the receipt

      • +1

He said story, like, what did you do/say/show them to get the deal? I doubt its really that easy to walk in and get the tablet on its own for $249.

  • +3

The price of the tablet is reflected in the extra warranty price. No deal. Also, not an advertised deal.

    • +1

Refer to the edited post please. Cheers.

  • The $55 extended warranty got me thinking. Your sales rep is a Pro!

Refer to the edited post cheers

      • good job! cheers

  • +4

Comeon guys +1 for the OP's efforts….neg neg neg is all some do…..

    • His "efforts" include ripping the store off by price matching a different model by the looks of things, I won't neg, but I can't say I disagree with their reasoning.

      • Refer to the edited post with the original price matching invoice. Believe it or not, that's the invoice I have used.

        It's the 2013 model.

  • +1

They could afford to sell it to him at that price cause he bought the extended warranty, which is like 100% profit to them and the $30 case which i bet they made at least $20 bucks on.
So the real price is more like $330 odd dollars… which, strangely enough, jb hi-fi are selling these for $333 at the moment… lol…

    • Yea, it seems to me the buyer got ripped off.

      • +2

So he paid 330 which is what you would normally pay @jb but he got extended warranty and case and he is getting ripped off?

      • Refer to the edited post cheers

  • Clearly says price matched to good guys so useless- need good guys price. Price matching deals shouldn't be posted anyway.

  • +5

I think will be a good idea to open forum for uploading recipets, to stop the fight and auguring about it deal or no deal.

Anyway thanks op I knew you uploaded it after some requests from ozbargainers

  • "Good Guys" n "extended warranty" make things complicated!

    • Warranty does not form part of the deal. I asked for that after they gave me the deal.

      • -1

        thanks bro anyway

  • Price matching not a deal, warranty/accessories are high mark up for the store, and Dick Smith are not advertising $249 other than the 2012 model.

    • Please refer to the edited post with the receipt I used for price matching. Believe it or not, I got the deal.

  • +7

+1 for the effort to upload & help others. Don't understand why people are complaining, if its not bargain to them, then just don't use it.

    • Thank you very much!!!!

  • +1

jb hifi was in the wrong side this time. if only they checked the date of transaction, September 2013(?), it's more than a month ago.

    • They did check and somehow rang up GG, but I still get the deal. Cheers

    • +6

I agree, but by taking in a month old receipt to price match the OP isn't exactly doing the right thing by JB-Hifi. I'm not negging this deal. I just don't think it's a true deal. Pricing errors are one thing, but intentionally trying to rip off stores by abusing their price matching runs the risk of them tightening their policy. Just my opinion.

      • -1

I agreed with you. But I got what I want and happy days. =)

      • -1

Just thought of sharing, end of story.

      • Op was unethical by doing this, but a deal is a deal i guess…

  • good job, op. thanks for sharing.

  • The original price match receipt is a price match receipt itself.
I am sure this orginal receipt was posted before but got remove but the mod.

    • From the mess I gather, the OP pricematched a receipt for a 2013 Nexus from JBHIFI Blacktown which pricematched (the assumption insert) the TGG price of a 2012 model. The OP bought his in Brisbane, Adelaide St which really makes you wrong in the way you are accusing him.

PMatching is however not a deal and you are right in that sense.

      • Sorry my assumption is wrong, this receipt was posted before here http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/116948

According to that post, that receipt was price match using a good guy receipt price matching kogan price of a Nexus 2013 but 16GB version.
It was move to forum so i expect this to be deal with the same way.

Not only that is a price matching deal it is also a dupe price matching deal.

  • Anyone offered JB $249 yet? What was the result?

  • price matching is not a bargain
the sales person must be new because the receipt is over a month old. anyone with experience will tell you no
