Bet Ezy - deal where you spend $50 and get $100 of bonus bets. Any non-gamblers taken advantage of this or other similar deals?

Bet Ezy have an offer for Living Social members where you can bet $50 during the Melbourne cup carnival and then get $100 of bonus bets. I'm not a gambler but I'm considering taking up this offer.
You can spend the $50 and gamble it as you wish. Then with the $100 bet, I would plan to bet on the safest possible options - such as $10 on every favorite on a day. Has anybody taken advantage of one of these offers in such a way. Did it work out?

  • If you would get $50 worth of enjoyment out of the betting if you got no return, go for it.
Otherwise, you probably want to bet on both sides of a footy/soccer match etc. (don't forget to back a draw too!) if you want to ensure you get most of your $50 back.
If you bet on favourites you could always risk losing the lot.

Their terms and conditions don't allow you to bet against any positions you have. My suggestion is you place a bet with another bookmaker, and then bet against that position with these guys. You'll have to take some level of risk or it's a zero sum game.

    Check the fine print.

I used one of their offers - invested $100, won about $150. Tried to withdraw and they said I needed to roll over my winnings 3 times at odds of greater than $2

I ended up using the winnings to hedge some other positions with other bookmakers, and as luck would have it, some of them came through and I was able to meet the turnover requirements and withdraw (about $200+) but I was still quite annoyed at the time.

  • Thanks for the tip. I rang them up and spoke to one of their guys - it is not a bad offer as you only have to roll over the winnings on the $50 three times - they didn't mention odds of greater than $2 and I forgot to ask them that. On the $100 bonus, as long as you bet it all once, you can take your winnings.
You may lose all the $50 but if you manage to get half your money back from the $100 then you're even. Any more and you're ahead. Not bad for a fun small gamble.

It's a pain meeting the hurdle requirements.

Also I've noted that you're in Victoria. They will deny any bonuses to people who live in Vic, SA or WA because of government legislation.

My advice - use an international bookie like Betfair

  • Ladbrokes are offering one bet of up to $50 (using cash not free bets) at double odds on the Melb Cup with no turnover requirements on those winnings. They also match your first deposit up to $250 with free bets to the same value, ex. Vic, SA, WA. Note that winnings from free bets must be turned over 2x on bets @ 1.50 or higher.

  • They've already given me the bonus - I haven't even deposited the $50.

Looks like Betezy haven't learned their lesson

And Livingsocial knows what state you're in, which also makes them complicit

I would stay away from Bet Sleazy.

When I was with them would take ages to process my withdrawals.

They would process withdrawals once a week and I had to remind them a few times before they would do it.

    • They are Bet Sleazy. They didn't explain the terms and conditions very well at all. When I rang them before taking up this account, I asked about the requirement to turn over the qualifying deposit three times before a withdrawal can be granted. I asked them if the $100 of free bets was included in this and the response was that this was not the case and that I got to keep any amount that I made from those free bets.
Now that I have tried to make a withdrawal I have found out that this is a lie. The winnings from the free bets goes into my 'main' account, and I still have to turn it over three times. I've used up all my free bets and also bet a total of $74.50. Yet I've been told that I still need to make another $74 worth of bets. Do you think I'll have anything left at the end.

Be careful, I strangely have had phone calls from numerous different betting agencies after I signed up. I have not signed up to any other betting agencies before.
