Food Restrictions - Protein bars?

I'm flying out in two days and wanted to know if they will take away my Protein bars if I take them in my carry on or suitcase.. I know they might sound like dumb questions but it's only my 2nd time flying so I'm not sure what is n what is not allowed.

I don't know if this will help - i am flying with Jetstar from MEL to QLD.

Thanks in advance.

  • It's a domestic flight so you wont need to go through any sort of quarantine, processed bars aren't a quarantine issue anyway, they will be fine to take either as part of carry on or checked baggage.

I would recommend taking a couple in your carry on bag to eat during the flight so you won't need to buy food from the airline, the rest can go in your suitcase.

  • I have a query in a similar field, I am fully aware of the 'LAGS' (Liquids, aerosols,& Gels) restrictions on international flights, and have had no problems with taking snack packs including dips etc. But are there also 'LAGS' restrictions on domestic flights? I can only find reference to International flights and domestic legs of International flights. Thanks

    • No more LAGS restrictions on domestic flights.

As long as it's a solid bar and not some sort of liquid gel, you will be fine.
