$100 to $200 Coles Myer Gift Card When Purchase 4 Pirelli Tyres from Jax

30

For every 4 x Pirelli tyres of 16" or 17" rim diameter purchased, receive a $100 gift card.
For every 4 x Pirelli tyres of 18" or greater rim diameter purchased, receive a $200 gift card.

For the tyre i looked into (cinturato p1 215/60/17) they were $165 each - which was the same price quoted by both Bob Jane and K-mart. So, if you after 4 Pirelli's it's definately worth considering. There is also a competition which purchasers of smaller tyres are also eligible for.

  • Are these the primes or options?

    • You don't want to be going out on slicks unless you want to become Pastor Maldonado at the slightest hint of rain.

  • Dammit; just bought 4 pirelli's about a month ago.

OP: I got the P1's as well; coming from the P7. The P7's were a much nicer tyre to drive on after a month of use - can't remember the price difference though.

    • Actually, as it turned out i ended up getting the P7s. Not because i chose to but basically i got mixed up and had 16 inch rims. The guys at the tyre shops didn't pick me up on it until i got there because apparently most 2007 Camrys did have 17 inch rims but not all. So, when i rocked up i just ended up with the P7s 'cos they had 4 in stock of the right size.

I hadn't done any research on the P7s so was a bit disapointed. Somewhat relieved to hear your opinion that they're better. Just out of curiousity, what in particular did you find better about them.

The Conti's buy 3 get the 4th free seems to be better value if you don't need P-Zero and above.

    • I was at Jax last weekend and while waiting I read a car magazine that reviewed car tyres and the Conti's were one of the worst tyres…. in the tests performed in the wet, dry, noise and handling.. it scored very badly. Long stopping distances was a major issue. I recall the Eagle scored better.

    • I actually started out a couple of weeks ago completely sold on the Contis but two different tyre mobs reckoned that my car (2007 camry) would be better off with a "more hard-wearing tyre like the pirellis". Possibly just means they get a bigger margin on them but hey.
