Do not know what V.me by Visa is - does anyone know?

Comments

  • Basically V.me by Visa is Visa's own system like PayPal

  • so do you need to have a Visa card to use it, as I was wanting to take advantage of the free shipping but have a gift voucher to you.. so guess that means I will need to pay for delivery, shame.

    • Nup you don't need a visa card.

    • They say they take Visa, Mastercard and Amex

  • I had never heard of this before, (I thought it was something to do with Verified by Visa), however I found this article - http://www.lifehacker.com.au/2013/07/v-me-by-visa-in-austral… . It looks like Visa and Mastercard are looking to take on Paypal. It is worth looking at the comments and link, one very critical of Paypal. Could by some interesting deals and sweetners when the launch gets into top gear.

    Good thing about this is…..

I have it set up (which you can do when you sign on) to notify you WHENEVER your card is used.

I get an e-mail whenever money is drawn from the card. This happens instantaneously.

Brilliant for security! I know exactly when my ISP draws the funds automatically immediately as an example.

There hasn't been anything I don't recognize immediately but imagine how fast I'd be on the ball if the card was used unscrupulously!

  • What a boost Clever idea, safe and practical, especially if someone knocks your card off. Cheers.

  • V was first introduced on COTD site last month.
