32inch JVC Full HD TV $298 at DickSmith

60

Just found this on dse website. I reckon its a good deal for a 32in for a bedroom or something. And a bonus that it is a JVC. I don't know if they are still as reputable as in days gone by.

    Akai 40'FHD for $299 @Officeworks,

    • You would be lucky to find stock now, let alone within 15 minutes of it going live at 7am the day it was on sale.

      • 15 mins?!?! I was at one of the office works 7 mins past 7am and was told it was sold out the day before!! :(

  • Didn't know JVC still made TV sets. Or perhaps it is a Soniq/Palsonic/ChangHong in disguise?

    • Bingo.

These are just cheap Chinese odm sets branded JVC . Not sure who has licenced the name for aus market though.

Since they are a dick Smith exclusive, I'd say it's a dick Smith brand now. Yes it would be cheap Chinese crap like soniq

  • I must know the response time on this television before I buy this television. Previous television bought contained slow response and caused Wii lag. Also PS3 lag. Not good enough. For me

It is always good to know about a television before you buy a television, I learned this on television whilst I was watching television. On my own.

  • I have a jvc lt-z32 it's gotta be almost 10 years old now. I got it around the time when lcd tvs first came out and it's still going strong. Not sure if mine is a rebadge or from a time when jvc still made tvs.

    • Not the same. Jvc is not jvc anymore

  • What tv's are these if they are rebaged jvc? are they worth the price for the 50" or should i stick to buying a samsung or lg??

    • I heard that the Soniq ones are generally older generation LG/Samsung panels inside with the casing and software and everything else made in China. I'm not sure if this is the case with these JVC ones. You can be certain that the software would definitely be inferior though compared to Samsung, LG, Sony etc

  • JVC branded TV sets in Australia are made by Yale Prima apparently, while Amtran manufactures JVC sets for the US.

Cannot locate any online user manual for the JVC branded models for Australia.

We had a 21" JVC TV back in the days when JVC made the TVs themselves.

No info on who makes these JVC TV's LCD panel.

Tried out one of JVC branded TV sets today-menu is easy to navigate and the remote has a JVC RM- series model no.

  • Thanks for the info aafuss! Though Yale Prima are a distribution / sourcing company, so actual OEM is anyones guess, and one of thousands no ones heard of anyway.

Had a look at one I'm dse today.. Nothing to speak of. Same generic stuff as Hitachi and DSE brands sitting next to it.
