i just got my iphone 5 replaced by apple (the lock/power button wasnt responsive on the old handset)
They gave me a new phone - but without a box or any cables etc.
Is it still ok to sell this on ebay? (sorry im a newbie on ebay)
I was hoping to sell it and purchase a nexus 5.

There is nothing wrong with selling a refurbished iPhone on eBay as long as you are honest and state that it is Apple refurbished in the description. In a lot of ways this is probably better than a truly 2nd hand iPhone because it is pristine on the outside, though recycled on the inside.

Ahhhhhhh… my boyfriend purchased the Nexus 5 but didn't like it and swapped it for the iPhone 5s. You guys could have done a swap!

Yup, the professionals will rip and strip you butt naked till they get the best price off you - it's what we live for. eBay's worse - they'll do all that while beating you with the commission stick. You have a much better chance of making more by targeting the yuppies on gumtree. They definitely wont mind you don't have the new box/cable. Just put it into the old box.
