Advice on PC build - $1200 budget

Hi All

Have been out of the computer scene for a while and havn't kept abreast of all the tech changes since building my rig 4 years ago.

A friend wants me to build him a PC; main use will be light business, some video processing, general downloading / surfing the web.

Only requirements are:

  • Dual Screen
  • Approx $1200 budget

I know it's not very specific, but if I could get some advice on potential builds it would be much appreciated.

    That budget is way more than you need. Unless 'some video processing' is very intensive any i3/8G RAM will do just fine. Throw in an SSD. Move to an i5 if you want to spend a bit more.
