Best rewards and insurance benefits CC for non-permanent residents ?

Good morning everyone,

I'm currently on a bridging visa having my application decided and it would probably take a while. I always miss out on collecting reward points and getting the travel/purchase insurance benefits as almost all credit card I've come across require us to be "a permanent resident of Australia".

I have been working full time for a while (and will be for another couple of years), would it be possible for them to bypass that or is that a strict criteria ? Or do you know any other cards that are specifically for non-permanent residents with good value ?

Thank you

  • Try ANZ They are looking for $50k+ income and will also be dependent on type of visa you hold 457 etc. Be prepared for application to be declined and having to contact them.

Suggest applying via branch rather than on-line.

I wouldn't say ANZ has the best rewards/insurance/fees/interest/interest free days etc etc but do have range of credit cards to choose from. ( A little tip: The worst value card (to a customer) it more likely to be approved)

  • If CC is not an option, try debit cards below:

    • ING every day account - 5% cash back for 6 months for Paypass payment

    • Bankwest Platinum Master Card
      24/7 Platinum concierge service
Worldwide Purchase Security Protection and Extended Warranty
Access to exclusive Platinum MasterCard offers by visiting Priceless Sydney
No monthly fee, simply deposit at least $4,000 per month to maintain your card
