(SYDNEY) What is there to do around here?

Any ideas of something interesting/different to do in Sydney at night? My friends and I always wind up at some boring restaurant or the movies. Anything else? Other than bowling/skirmish/movies/shops? Only suggest food if it's a really good and different restaurant experience. I don't know there never seems to be anything for us to do! If you know of an event or activity that's a bargain, that's even better of course! :)

Thanks for your help in advance!

I've gone ahead and added the city in the title for clarification. As for your question…

I honestly don't know. I've been down in Sydney a few times now but I've never seen what the place offers at night.

I can, however, tell you that The Wedge Espresso was hands down the best little cafe I'd ever stumbled across accidentally during my time in Sydney. Had the chicken sandwich and affogato.

I miss that place. You live in a very good city for food.

Rocks ghost tour? Late afternoon bridge climb ($140 or so) ? Opera house tour? Jet boat on the harbour, and sit up the back?

  • Tried gaming? Not video games, but old school board games, trading card games or miniature games - bit of a resurgence in the hobby last few years. Head to http://locator.wizards.com and type in your suburb, it'll populate with a bunch of gaming stores, many of which open late.

  • Learn card counting and hit up the casino blackjack.

  • If you're up for joining a sports comp would give you something to do 1 night a week, plus it's good for fitness and fun. eg, touch football, basket ball, soccer/indoor soccer. Cost about $100 per person per comp 10-12 weeks. If you don't have enough mates to form a team on your own, contact the club you're interested in - sometimes other teams look for new members and they could put you in contact. http://www.nswtouch.com.au/index.php?id=871
