  • I assume it's locked?

  • 'Handsets are locked to the Telstra network. Network unlocking fees apply.'

About $25+ for unlock codes? Didn't really look hard, though.

    • Should be <$5 on ebay. Never unlock through official channels.

      • Yeah, I searched ebay. :P That was the cheapest. Didn't look hard, though, so if you know of some vendor who does it for $5.

        • I'd ask bagman first, he's an ozbargainer

        • Can you give me the link to that $5 unlock code for this SONY Boost on eBay, thanks. I tried to search and couldn't find it.

Hi, I hope my post is OK here as I believe it will be useful and not just advertising. I have experience with unlocking many of the Boost Sony Xperia E & Sony Xperia M and can let you know that the unlocking codes for this phone are more expensive than most other phones. We sell the unlock codes for this phone and I have created a coupon code to reduce the price to $19. Please use coupon code OZBARGAIN10 to reduce the price from $29 to $19. I would be surprised if anyone can find cheaper than this, and would love to hear from you if you do.

        • hi - a question.

if someone came to you seeking an unlock and in the conversation you realise the phone would work on that persons network without unlocking (eg boost -> aldi) would you still proceed and charge them, or advise them it isnt necessary for that network ?

  • It only has 850 and 2100 so it's good for Telstra and maybe Vodafone. Missing 900mhz for Optus.
Is there a all band cheap android phone on sale? Looking for one for my old man.

Try heavily promoted mobicity in here.

Ozbargin's owner may have an interest in shop. LOL!

    • Try a 4" Huawei G300+. It's all band and can be unlocked free via Vodafone website or for $5 via bagman. Its on sale for $79 at Target and DSE till 27-Nov.

      • I bought this phones from different stores for my overseas relatives when they visited me and these phones were factory unlocked. 1 from target, 1 from dicksmtih and 1 from vodafone store. Triple luck maybe??

  • Can you claim $20 cashback?

    • No. T&Cs clearly state the $20 cashback applies ONLY if you pay $99 or more for the handset.

  • I wouldn't buy it for myself, but it's good for who come from oversea and stay here only temporary.

Pre-paid is good enough to avoid bill shock.

A pre-paid account with a Nokia 5110 is good enough as a first mobile phone for kids. It has the snake game!

  • I bought this phone ages ago, still use it, I got the boost $99 deal. It can be sluggish at times and the camera is not even worth it, I repeat, the camera alone is not worth it. So I just use phone functions and a hotspot for my ipod.

  • Only a 3MP fixed focus camera-but I've found it fine for social media sharing.

Feel sluggish sometimes for me as well.

I paid $99 for my E and liking it a lot.

No NFC of course but found it easy to pair with a $50 Sony SBH50 headset.

  • bought one yesterday. easily the nicest 'cheap' phone ive bought. yes its plastic but the response, functions, volume & clarity are all good. with the aldi sim its a good deal.

and it does the photo enlarge with 2 fingers thingy like the phones i cant afford. tick.
