This is a great price for a great game. I believe this is the lowest it has ever been.

Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition is currently US$5.99 for 12 hours only. You get a Steam key with the purchase and $5 promotional credit to use in the January sale.

Just use a US billing address when purchasing (make sure you choose a state with no sales tax).

A controller is HIGHLY recommended to play this game.

  Any news on if they'll remove the GFWL so it won't die in 6 months when GFWL shuts down?

  If not, you are renting the game for a few months, not buying. Keep that in mind. Fun game, but if you're just starting to get into it and it stops working forever…

    Most likely, it will be as Demon's Souls was when they shut down their servers. It will still be playable, but without the multiplayer component. Personally I find it better to play offline when I'm doing runs, but the constant anticipation of someone spawning in your world to wreck you was and always will be a driving factor to play the game.

      Not to mention the abundance of hackers. We're also at a disadvantage due to latency issues.

  Yep, this does seem to be the lowest price. I think I purchased it for 9ish, also from Amazon. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten very far into it and am now also quite concerned about GFWL shutting down and not hearing any reports for it being patched out of this game!

  If you're considering purchasing this, you should also consider downloading this mod which increases the frame rate of the game to 60, among a slew of other things you can find the mod here.
  Be sure to alter the option files that are inside the download, as those allow you to optimise your gameplay.
  Additional mods for the game may be found here, but require third-party programs

    Wait a second…Dark Souls in PC was modable??? I have finished DS in PS3…zillions of replays through…but damn…mods??? Hell yeah..am playing it all over again :)
