Positive comments without positive vote.

I have often noticed people make positive comments on good posts but do not give a positive vote. Is this because they don't want the post to get too many positives because they have a post of their own or is it just easier to make the comment and not click the positive. I am just curious to hear what others think about this.

  • Sometimes people just forget…

  • yeah, i noticed that too.

  • I am "guilty" of doing it, but I am usually reserving judgment particularly with things like cotd or dell. Sometimes I think its an ok price but not a bargain as such so wont neg but wont pos either. And yes, sometimes I forget.

    • +1

Same. Some people tend to jump the gun with a positive vote and the deal turns out sour. CoTD and Dell being prime examples.

  • In rarer cases although a bargain may not apply to me, I still research the bargain and suspend my vote until later. Issue is you can't switch vote from negative to positive or the other way (however you can revoke it).

I myself, and I'm sure many others want to make sure I vote for something I believe is a genuine bargain.
