The Sleep Therapy Rubie Gel Memory Foam Mattress

The Sleep Therapy Rubie Mattress is a European style, Australian made, two layer memory foam mattress. The two layers of the mattress are designed to mould exactly to the contours of your body while providing enough deep down support to reduce pressure points and provide perfectly even weight distribution, allowing a relaxing and uninterrupted sleep.

Features
  • High quality, Australian made, viscoelastic gel memory foam works to reduce pressure points and disperse weight more evenly.

  • The top layer of the Rubie Mattress is 40mm (4cm) thick and made from a new generation high density Gel memory foam (52 kg per cubic metre). Gel infused memory foams are designed to sleep cooler than standard memory foams. This is why the Rubie mattress has a slightly thinner layer, it sacrifices a small amount of the memory foam effect to reduce the heat buildup due to being "enveloped" in the high density foam.

  • All of Sleep Therapy's mattresses are made using only the highest quality foams produced right here in Australia by this country's largest foam manufacturer, Joyce Foam Products.

Our Dream Tri-Layer Memory Foam Mattress is also on sale at the moment, 40% off

Additional Information

At Sleep Therapy, we understand that purchasing a mattress is a big choice, and it is one that you have to live with for a long time. This is especially true of buying a mattress online, without even having the chance to lie on it, which is quite a large leap of faith.

What if you had 30 days to make this choice?

We offer a 30 day satisfaction guarantee, whereby we give you 30 days from when you receive the product to make up your mind about it. If you decide you don't like it, just return it and we will exchange it for a different mattress (if you want) or refund your money. But what if you are located interstate? Since our office is located in Sydney, the cost of sending a mattress back from another state would be large enough to render this guarantee useless. For this reason, we have an agreement with our foam supplier, Joyce foam products, who have factories in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. Just contact us and you can return it to whichever factory is closest to you.

Never used memory foam mattress, was wondering if there's a place to at least try it for five minutes near Wollongong. Will this compare to something sold in Harvey Norman on both feeling and quality?

    • Sorry, We are an online store only and don't have any retail outlets. In terms of feeling and quality, memory foam feels very different to standard beds and lying on any bed that has memory foam will give you an idea as to what that feels like. In terms of it being a foam cored mattress as opposed to a sprung mattress, Harvey Norman sells the Tempurpedic brand which is a foam core with memory foam layer which has a similar feel, as well as a few other solid foam core mattress brands depending on the particular Harvey Norman. In terms of quality, all of our products are Australian made, we believe them to be extremely high quality, and come with a 10 year warranty and our 30 day satisfaction guarantee.

  • Why are double bed mattress the same length as single beds, but king single beds the same length as queens and kings?

    • I thought that's the standard sizing, except the Queens is narrower than I remember (160cm +/-).

      • It is standard but it makes no sense.

I don't know why that is the case, but it is just the standard size (footprint) for mattresses in Australia. I should probably mention that only the width and length are standard sizes, there is no standard thickness for mattresses.

These are quite different to normal mattresses. I have an ergoflex one ($1000 delivered for a queen size). Some people love them, some can't stand them, and you may not not know for a few weeks/months.

I'm finding it ok. I slept on futons on the floor for years before. One thing I do find is if the bottom is not aired (flip it or lean it up against the wall - not easy as they're quite cumbersome) it gets mouldy as the whole thing is one giant vapour barrier.

Also it does feel quite warm (to the point of being too hot in summer), so it's interesting that this company has done something to reduce that. I find Tencel and/or bamboo sheets help make it feel cooler and I have a lighter weight Tencel quilt for summer. Also a Tencel bed protector that is waterproof, but doesn't feel like a rubber sheet. Not a bad idea considering one spilt cuppa could soak right in to these mattresses.
