Retail gift card transfers

Has anyone successfully transferred a gift card credit before? Like coles, myer, Jbhifi, David jones etc.

you need to look at the t&cs for your gift card. you might be able to use a gift card to purchase another gift card.

I've gone into Target before and purchased a Coles Group card with a Target only card. I have no idea whether this would work for any other cards.

I know the Myer online giftcard has the option to 'regift'.

Went into myer to purchase coles-myer with a Myer card, and their system wouldn't allow it, staff ask me what card I had after, and said it does not work. Thought I saw a post that said someone tried this and worked. I believe it's the new terminals with tap and go which detects it, just a hitch, the old systems with old green screens like 1980"s would work, if someone can confirm this?
Or is it that coles myer can acept any card unless its only a coles? Which is very confusing.
