Great deal. Though it really highlights how poorly the XBOX One is doing in Oz. The Fifa download bundle had limited copies yet I picked one up from Harvey Norman at launch without issue.

It doesn't highlight that at all. This is a silly thing to say without knowing production numbers

Day one Xbox live card is still being sold at nearly every store I have been to this week, was meant to limited to first day, people are trying to sell them for crazy money on ebay despite them easy to find for 80bucks

    Nice deal.

Quite sad about the Gamesmen. I recall as a kid traveling 40 mins to visit their store. I'm glad they haven't completely gone under, like Games Wizards, which were rebranded as Game.

      What's sad about them?

      • +1

back in the 80s and 90s they were the best place to go to get games, check out game related stuff etc….

good prices, good people running the stores,

completely different to the shitmonster that is EB.

      • He might be referring to the incident at the store where one of the Gamesmen was shot and killed. Considering he was just at work doing his job and someone ended his life and changed his family forever.

        That's what was sad.

It is ridiculous how tempted I am to buy this despite having no interest in any of the games available.

  • Xbox One or PS4 guys? Need your opinion. I noticed that I can get Xbox anytime at store but PS4 currently no stock..seems huge demand for PS4. Does xbox one that bad?

I'm not a gamer, but currently impressed by the voice and facial recognition.

Having the most fun yelling "Xbox turn off" when my bf is playing.

      • oh that's cold… lol

        • +2

It becomes a mini game. First person to say yes or no wins.

        • I think they role play "ohh girl , you gonna get it!"

    • Both systems launch titles aren't amazing. Ps4 will likely have stronger exclusives but Xbox better for online and dlc

    • +1

In terms of hardware there isn't a massive difference other than Xbox having Kinect which could be cool. Mostly depends on which console exclusives you care more about. I'm sure there's many other smaller differences but when it comes down to it they're both going to get every major game release and do everything else you expect a modern console to do. PS4 is doing much better I think because they sort of won the pre-release war. There was a lot of Xbox hate going around for things that (IMO) it didn't really deserve that much hate for.

For reference I don't own either and don't plan on getting them. I'm primarily a PC gamer.

Ars Technica (a good site) recommends PS4, but I don't think there's a lot in it. Read review here,

      http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2013/11/xbox-one-review-more-t…

I won't buy either console - so I have no personal preference

    • Most of the non-gaming functionality is limited in Australia at the moment for the Xbox One, we don't even get a live tv guide if I've read correctly. I suspect it will get much better within the next year.

I'm going to get the Xbox One myself but further down the track. With the exception of the few great exclusives each will get the more hardcore gaming library will be much the same. I'm more interested in what developers do with the new kinect, since every console has one now there is more incentive to utilise it. I'm hoping for some good casual games that can match the fun had with the wii. Being able to play the more serious games, the casual kinect games with the improved sensors, and all the other media features once up and running fully in Australia just makes the Xbox One look like the better all round option.

Having said that, if that more serious gaming is all you want, most people seem to be jumping on the PS4 for that so you may find a larger online community there, at least initially anyway.

    • It's currently too early right now to declare a winner (if one even exists). The launch line-up is nothing special and most can be had on PC if you're a PC gamer. Xbox used to have the (arguably) better online experience since you were paying for it however now that PS4 is charging for online they may be stepping up the quality of their online services.

  • Bought one! Cheers!

  • and it begins!

  • What's the warranty with this?

  • sold out, too later.

    • bought the last one, soz guys

      • soznotsoz

  • now..it's gone

  • Wow, that was quick.

  • Xbox 1, ps4 or wii u? These good consoles to choose from.

  • +1

With xbox one you can stream from your laptop and play mp3 or cd. Ps4 apparently will enable these features. In the future.

    • Yup, Xbox1 is the better console. Has superiour features. I doubt Sony have the technical expertise to program features to the level the Xbox1 has.

      • -1

It has a superior price, thats about it….

Ps4 has considerably more powerful hardware and was built around the core focus of gaming.

As someone that's absorbed ludicrous amount of information on the x1 and ps4 since their revel at E3, I can say without doubt if your focus is gaming then the ps4 is the console for you.

X1's best media features are all usa exclusive, and you are buying into a promise of future upgrades that microsoft may never get around to.

  • For your sake I hope one of those features is a spell checker.

    • +1

What did I spell incorrectly in my post? :(

My apologies, I have mild dyslexia, so I'm prone to misspelling things and leaving words out of sentences sometimes. I was also rushing to post the deal before the limited stock ran out — if I had double-checked and triple-checked my spelling and grammar, then the deal might have sold out before it even made it to OzBargain.

I was referring to Warier. Your deal (although now expired) was a good one.
