i saw this while googling reviews on the product.

    https://www.jbhifihome.com.au/Express-Easy-Control-Steam-Gen…

    looks the same and cheaper?

    • It has the model at the bottom and it is the same one. So it works out cheaper to buy it there if you don't have amex and your in one of these areas:

Brisbane Metro, Gold Coast, Sydney Metro, Melbourne Metro, Sunshine Coast

      Good find

  • Do you get 20% off the $299 with

    http://shop.davidjones.com.au/djs/en/davidjones/DiscountDeta…

    as well?

    • I don't think so, it says full priced items. Someone with a DJ's card could confirm.

      • on check out and say you are paying with DJ's card it'll tell you if it qualifies for the extra 20% off.

This item does not qualify for the 20% off.

So if JB is $249, I thought DJ's are pretty good with price matching… could beg DJ's to charge more - $251 instead (or buy a pack of gum as well), then use the Amex deal to get $50 back ($201) and after the cashback comes your way, out of pocket is $101..??

Sounds too good to be true :)

    • i like it

    • You can try, I thought about it but I had already ordered and Im in Perth so excluded from the JB deal. Post back if it works.

  • Do the welcome and treat5 only work for appliances?

Just got one from David Jones store.
Only aware they price match when walked into the store and saw the sign.

Shown them the JB Hifi price, and they priced match without any question.

I queried about DJ Store Card, and was told that if I signed up on the spot, will also get 10% off.
So I also applied for the card.

It's a great bargain in the end:
    $249-$24.9 (10% disc)-$100 (cashback)-$50 (amex credit) = $74.10

I ended up getting $26 DJ gift card to make the total price over $250 to qualify for the Amex promotion.

Thanks OP & yellow for the JB Hifi cheaper price link.

    • epic deal! well done

    • When apply for StoreCard, do you get approve on the spot? I try to apply but was told I won't get any discount until receive the card. Customer Service need to wipe the store card through before discount can apply.

      • Yes, approved on the spot. The lady called and gave all the details over the phone and gave me temporary card.

        • So I guess you use the temporary card to pay. Can you register temporary card for Amex $50 cash back?

        • No, actually I paid using my other Amex card which I have registered for amex promotion previously. I found it weird as well the lady still gave me the 10% disc even though I didn't pay with the storecard. Of course I didn't complaint or queried further.

My guess is either I got lucky (the lady was extremely nice), or because the temporary card is just a piece of paper, hence still can't be used for payment, but they still give the disc?

She even told me that I will still get the 10% disc for my next purchase in the next few days until my actual card arrives in the mail.

        • which store did you go to?

    • I thought the Amex credit was only for Amex and Big4 issued cards?

      • I paid using Amex issued card.
