Vornado Air Circulator $89 Free Shipping from AGL. $150 from HN

120

Bought one probably 10 years ago for well over 100 bucks. Still works fine. Best fan i ever bought. Better than the fancy bladeless dyson one. Doesnt look as pretty as the dyson but way more effective (my personal opinion)

Did a quick google and hn was selling one with similar specs for $150.

Bought 2 for summer!

Happy hunting and Merry Christmas :-)

HN sells the exact same model (71533) as AGL for $99: http://www.harveynorman.com.au/vornado-32-4cm-air-circulator…

$150 is for the bigger 71633 model.

  • Good work. I didnt click on the google tile when i searched. This still ends up a cheaper deal for the same product ^_^

id argue you could probably get hn down the further $10 in store if you wanted one today

      • Trying to find a park with xmas crowds would give me the sh!ts!!

  • Is it quiet enough to have it running in the same room you sleep in?

Im a pretty heavy sleeper and i couldnt sleep with it on high. I could def sleep with it on low. Medium is 50/50. Also depends on how big the room is. Hope it helps

      • Cheers for the feedback.

I have this model and also a bigger one. At lowest setting, I would say comparable to an ordinary fan. At highest setting, it is a bit louder but still manageable if you are used to like cars passing by. Please note, this fan will not rotate as it is an air circulator. They are good though if you have an aircon and want the cold air to be distributed to some parts of an area. I am a heavy sleeper so I can sleep even on high setting.

      • Thats the thing. It works really well with existing air conditioning or i sometimes just place it by an open window. That works quite well too

  • Just wait. Ill test it out with the old one

  • 62 Watts.

(How on earth do AGL get away with omitting such a useful piece of information?)

Amazon Price: US$50.85+$36 forwarder = $95 AUD. So definitely cheaper to buy local.

    • I wouldn't import a device that uses a motor anyway. Even if you use a step-down transformer, the 50/60Hz difference means it'll spin 20% slower.

  • So how does that differ from something like this, apart from being double the price?

I have one of these and I have never used it above the 1 setting as that is damn near cyclonic.

    • The vornados feel more directional than any other fan I've used. The design of the blades spins air around which makes it easier to create turbulence to distribute air around the room.

    • That BigW fan looks like the very noisy fans I mentioned. Is it very loud?

    • Guess it really depends on what you need (ie. direct cooling vs air circulation). I'm looking into it as I sleep with my door closed and my room gets stuffy at night.

  • I've bought a couple of fans described as "industrial" and they both sound like a small areoplane warming up for takeoff. Judging from the Youtube reviews this doesn't sound as loud as that but still pretty loud.

Got this 10% off next order voucher code when I signed up and looks generic. Brings it down to $80.10. Feel free to add to post OP. Discount code expires 31/12/13.

    • That's funny. I've just spent the last 5 minutes searching through my email trying to find that code- I knew it was somewhere in there- come back here and you've given it.

  • Love love love these fans! Bought this one and was so impressed I got the next size up a few years ago from HN. A little noisy but relative to the air they push it's well worth it. I use one to push cold air up stairs to cool in summer, works amazingly well.

I dropped one a while back and broke the blades while it was operating, contacted the company to see if I could buy replacement blades. They said no problems and sent a set out free of charge!

I think this makes me a Vornado fanboy!

  • Mine finally arrived today - 1 day too late for the 40 degrees in Melb.

Seems pretty good so far, noisy on high but not too bad.

    • I still haven't received mine. Showing up still on order…
