  • Nice price on the Samsung Evo 250GB SSD, Is that with delivery for an extra $5/-?

    • Dang too bad this store is in vic… the 250 is really good for 176… nothing bigger then 250 for this deal rep?

      • Hi ProjectZero
currently not, but will request the bigger size for next post
        Cnet

  • Msy does 182 for evo 250, which is one dollar more than throwing 5 dollar shipping for other states like nsw.

Mwave claim to do v300 for 170 picked up at sydney too

So yeah, these deals are good for Victorians :)

Other states can wait for more local deals

    • Yup, thats what i was thinking… wanna see if they can do better for the bigger storages just in case.

If i was going to get the 250, i'd get it from mwave just to save the hassel of sending the item back if its faulty… i'd rock up to the store instead lol.

Still if they can do larger capacity for lower then what mwave can do (they PM'd me so i don't think i should disclose the price) then i'd get one from this place… i have about 200G worth of games + OS at this point in time… 250G isn't going to last very long =/

      • Really depend on what u do with ssd, I had a v300 120 for 89 from itestate half a year ago plus two first gen ssd 128 and 64 in a gaming desktop, since these are steam and origin games I can back up to a 500 gb hdd if I m not playing or done playing it,
All drives are merely half full.

For my notebook, I had a 840 not pro 250, pulling a one gb drive on odd bay, 16gb ram, no complains under 8.1. Primary ssd drive only filled 1/3 capacity.

My experience is 250 is more than enough as primary Os drive.

        • Yeah i plan on putting all my games on it thats why lol… i suppose i can do what you do and just back them up… though i don't know how to do that for uplay =/

  • Speaking from having owned and used a v100 for about 6 months, they are terribly slow. Spend a bit more and get a faster drive

    • V300 are mid range drives, a lot better against HDDs by far. I don't see any problem on my SATA 2 core 2 PCB, but I am sure it will see gaps for SATA 3 boards and Notebooks compare to EVO the like.

  • so would 120G Evo be enough for win8.1 + dev IDEs + Photoshop + dreamweaver + a few games(probably say 10) like sleeping dog, GTA etc?

    • I'd say not if this is to be your primary (boot) drive as you need to allow for your pagefile, essential programs like antivirus, firewall etc. The biggest problem I found with 120 (I u/g to a 240) was some programs auto install to c:/ by default and offer no custom installation option. I found that my 120 Gb was filling up way too quick ith just win 7, office 2010. Adobe CS6 and the essentials.

Go for the 240 as a minimum and have more room for the odd game. I have way to much on steam to fit on a 240 BTW so set that up to a 2tb mechanical drive still works fine

  • Hi rep, how much for a Samsung SSD 500G evo and pro? i have been looking for a good deal for a while. thanks.
