    Not sure about ambassador card

  • why don't you buy from Amazon or UK retailers, once you know your exact size and colour of the model you want
there is 25 % Amazon code that expires soon

    • Whats the code?

      • 25SHOES1

      • 25SHOES1 spend $100 and get 25% off

  • Do you know anyone who works there or anywhere in the Super Retail Group? http://www.superretailgroup.com.au/about-us/brands/

They get really good staff discounts, from memory its cost price+10% or something, can be up to 90% off!

B.S. about the 90% off, they recently changed it to be the higher of:
      - 50% off RRP (REALLY bad for the stuff they decide to have massive markups)
      - Cost to shelf + 10% (For GST), for shoes it seems the Cost to Shelf is 25% on top of the wholesale price from vendor.

It used to be wholesale price from vendor x 1.375 (25% markup and 10% for GST), sometimes, the public sale price was lower than the staff price.

Source: I work at RS, but not ticking the rep box, you can report to mods if you like.
Planning to leave in 1.5 months anyway, PM me with any questions.

  • Just ask for a discount, recent bought two new model shoes from rebel for $400 instead of $480ish on the tags. Cheapest I could find online was $189 a pair, not worth it!

I used to work there and the general rule is if you ask for a discount the staff member will usually give you 5-10% off!

The trick to finding out how much they mark up their products is to look at the little letters on the top left of the barcode, usually 2 letters eg. AF. Each letter corresponds to the letter's position in the alphabet so in the case of AF, A=1 and F=6 so the product has been marked up 16%. Also if there is an *, that is 0.

    • Each letter corresponds to the letter's position in the alphabet so in the case of AF, A=1 and F=6 so the product has been marked up 16%.

      Not entirely correct.
For some of the new tags, for footwear shelf signs, the letters are no longer there, however on the sticker with the price tag, the letters still exist.

If it is AF, yep, read it as 16%. However, it does not mean 16% markup, it means 16% of the price (GST included) you are paying will be profit for the company. Knowing this, you can estimate the cost of the price from the vendor (not "cost to shelf", since that can be fudged by the company).
