  • $29 shipping to Tas is pretty high (for 1 of each). Probably could do it for less and faster by courier.

    • Thank you for the suggestion wfdTamar, if you know any cheaper courier services please let us know, we'd love you get the cookware to you for less!

      • Fastway are usually pretty good.

        • We will get in touch with Fastway on Monday.
We've looked into delivery to Tas on Auspost and their best price is $20.25 for 1 item and around $26.85 for 2 items. If you are happy with the shipping cost please let us know here: www.izu.com.au/Articles.asp?ID=252
          Or pm us. Thank you.

        • You should be able to work it out on their site (Tas 7276).

        • Thanks wfdTamar, we tried that but because our boxes are quite big,
          48 x 29 x 10 cm for the Frying Pan and 39 x 21 x 14 cm for the Saucepan.
The shipping cost is similar to Auspost. We are waiting for a reply on whether these boxes will fit in their National Satchels (450x610mm). If they do, the cost will be around $12 each nation wide.

        • Hi wfdTamar,
We've decided to absorb the postage difference and have them fixed at $12 nation wide per item. Hope that helps!

  • Why such a massive discounts? Or are they only worth $35?

    • Fair question figarow, we use only the best materials in our cookware, and our non-stick coating is one of the most advanced currently available on the market.
However, some of the products in this current shipment have some slight cosmetic blemishes at the bottom of the cookware. It does not affect the performance of the cookware in any way. But because of this we decided to sell them off below cost.

      • My bad didn't see that in the bottom of your post will chat to other half see if we need one in the meantime please look into getting postage down if possible cheers.

  • The problem for the consumer is we can't tell what sort of quality these are. There are so many out there of all sorts of qualities (that look ok in pictures). Graysonline, Everten etc have various similar looking hard anodised, brand names items for very little more so why buy a second of (what seems) a generic Chinese brand?. Just using the phrase 'Diamond Pro' doesn't mean anything. Are there actual diamonds in it (not according to your post)? Nothing to back up the claims. That you have so many flawed ones indicates quality control is an issue.

You have a couple of good anonymous reviews on the site and 3 feedback comments on ebay (from users that have just received them - not used them for years). Half your listed items aren't in stock. The site is a bit threadbare. A Google shows no other signs of this brand. The 10 year warranty means nothing.

$47 for something of unproven quality is a bit of gamble. Maybe with free shipping. No way I'd pay the full price for the unblemished ones. Sorry :-)

    • No worries wtdTamar, we totally understand.

Our Diamond Pro non-stick coating is reinforced with materials virtually as hard as diamonds.
The coating company we use is Whitford, one of the largest coating companies in the world. They supply non-stick coatings to many major cookware brands. IZU is one of the very few brands that currently uses their top of the line non-stick coating called Eclipse.
Here is a link to the specific coating we use http://www.whitfordww.com/housewares/eclipse.html

The majority of the cookware around $100 uses a lesser non-stick coating similar to Whitford's QuanTanium, while it is quite good, but they are not as durable.

Most 26 cm frying pans using a coating as advanced as Eclipse/Diamond Pro will cost around $150 RRP. That is why we believe that $35 + $12 shipping for one with some cosmetic blemishes at the bottom of the pan is a reasonable price for ozbargainers.

If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with our product you can always return it for a refund. But I think you will be pleased with the performance of our products.

  • Are these pan bottoms at all likely to scratch a glass cooktop - Induction or convection?

    • All IZU cookware have a completely flat polished stainless steel base, so they are unlikely to scratch the glass cooktop. However we do advise lifting the pans off the cooking surface before moving it just to be safe.

Well, I got two of each. Overall impression is ok, not top grade, but a reasonable atempt. The flaw on the bottom is nothing much, but it is an indicator of the lack of care taken in manufacture - along with a few other things:

The handle has what looks like pimples in the bits they obviously couldn't reach with the polishing (but are still visible).

3 of the 4 items I got had very small flaws in the inside non stick cooking surface - you could feel and/or see spots when running your fingers around. These come off and are the starting point for deterioration of the coating. One of the frying pans had about 9 visible flaws like this, the other had minor scuff marks inside the same diameter of a saucepan bottom (possibly been returned or display stock?).

The saucepan lids have about 5mm play in one direction, but 2mm the other. This means either the lid, pot or both are not round. Still works ok, but feels sloppy.

Overall, I would not be at all happy if I paid the normal price of $149.99 for these. If they had no flaws in the non stick coating, maybe $50-60. As it is with the flaws I found, as well as those stated, I don't feel they are worth the $47 posted in this deal.

    • cheers for the review glad i didn't buy!

    • Thank you for your feedback wfdTamar, we value honest feedback like the one you have provided above.
The particular products you bought were discounted as factory seconds due to their cosmetic imperfections. However, if you are not happy with the product you received please contact us at www.izu.com.au/Articles.asp?ID=252.

Ok, another comment on these. Used the frying pan and when it heats up the middle rises up (presumably because the bottom expands and it has nowhere to go but up). The bottom is perfectly flat and smooth when you get it out of the box. There ridges in it like most brands have. Maybe they put them there to prevent this? The last time I put a straight edge against it and the middle was 5mm higher than the sides! This means any liquid you put in runs to the outside of the pan.

Also seems to scratch quite easily. I've only used a nylon spatula and there are fine scratches in it.

They have a free returns policy but of course that's only if you haven't used them! Pretty useless.

    • return only if you haven't used them? That sounds dodgy, i would push for returns with the threat of ACCC you purchased something that is not working as intended / advertised. "Heavy gauge bottom provides even heat distribution".

    • Hi wfdTamar, internally reinforced non-stick coatings are designed to take on minor scratches and they should not affect the performance of the coating.

As metal absorbs heat energy, it is in their characteristic to expand. Most cookware are designed to expand upwards not downwards, as it is always safer for the bottom to protrude upwards than protruding downwards and causing the cookware to become unstable on a cooktop.

Please note the cooking temperature should not exceed 260°C as that could cause the non-stick coating to break down.

Also The bottom of our frying pans are made with 5mm thick hard anodised aluminium with the addition of a stainless steel plate for induction. It is the industry norm to call it a heavy gauge cookware, and it has been tested to provide even heat distribution.

  • Mistyped in my post above. Meant to say there are no ridges and maybe other brands put them in to prevent this happening.

You'd be much better off with the Tefal ones just posted.

  • Friggin Norah, now one of the rivets in the frying pan handle is loose so there is play in the handle. Just a little bit but still yet another sign of shoddy quality control.
