Novel concept! If I didn't already own most of the likely candidates (Kane & Lynch, Tomb Raider, Sleeping Dogs, Deus Ex, Hitman, Dungeon Siege, Supreme Commander) I'd probably have given it a shot. Be keen to see what combos people end up with and given they're giftable, perhaps and OZB key exchange program is in order :-)

    • Looks like everyone will be getting the same games…

This was posted by the staff on their website.

Everyone's games will be the same, but the idea of a random lucky bag of games sounds fun!

      • Hey all, games have been revealed!

        Just Cause 2
        Hitman: Blood Money
        Tomb Raider
        Dungeon Siege III

Not a bad buy at all! If any ozbargainers wound up with a duplicate key for dungeon siege 3 let me know and maybe we can work something out :-)

  • You don't get your games until after promo ends, hence the surprise.

Yeah I realise that, but come the 20th I'm guessing there'll be a bunch of ozbargainers with duplicate copies of games they've picked up cheap in other sales! So if folks keep an eye on this thread in a week's time or so they can maybe just trade for anything they missed!

Do you think its a preset combo or 4 randomly from a set list?

Also, I just read your cancellation rights in the terms and conditions.

You are in your right to cancel your order up to 14 days after "(b) in the case a Download Product, the date on which we notify you that the Download Product is available for download from the Store"

So technically you could buy now, see what games come up on the 20th and cancel if it doesn't rock your boat.

Only requires 12 gb of space, gonna get my detective hat on

  • Meh, most likely old FF series and Deus Ex(which I have both). Pass.

What's the bet that the games will be based on how successful the promotion is.. If no one buys it, crap games.. if it's a success, you might get the good game (tombraider)..

    • Yep, was thinking that this morning when I read their email.

    • More the other way around, I think they must have fixed quantities of games, like let's say 100 good games and 100000 crap games… Once the good games are allocated, you'll just get crappy ones…?

Or everybody get 1 AAA game, 1 average one and 2 crappy titles

  • At least one of the games will be Deux Ex or Hitman Abs…

    • The cynic in me thinks it will be games with the most amount of DLC to possibly sell later on - think essentially the freemium/free 2 play model but in this case with "premium" games going crazy cheap in order to get bigger money down the road.

So my guess is a ratio of 2 or even 3 to 1 "premium" titles to junk. At this point in time Hitman and Sleeping Dogs have certainly had their day in the sun and tend to sell for <$10 in every sale anyway. Tomb Raider also has a surprising amount of DLC so it's a genuine possibility I think.

Definitely wouldn't expect to see FF7 or FF8 given their relative newness to Steam. These are just my bets anyway, will be keen to see the outcome in a week or so :-)
