Is KFC getting too expensive?

Well ok I know that there is a thread about burger fast food chains, but how about the deal with chicken? Comparing KFC to Red rooster and Nandos they all sell chicken as there main.
Out of them, KFC would be the most expensive as for size and quantity, the only reason KFC probably has the most customers besides being a bigger competitor, it has a lot of mail coupons that gets mailed out.

There has been a large debate latley as for those $2-5 boxes which the chicken that comes with chips is the size of a finger and images are not advertised very well. What do you guys think?

kfc has traditionally been more expensive

i think the $5 box and $10 tuesdays and the coupons and stuff evens it out though

    i'm fine with it

  • It used to be really expensive, then it went cheap a few years back and now it's climbing up again. KFC used to be my junk food of choice, but now I mostly go to Hungry Jacks… though Burger King is better over seas and in NZ…

    • I hope you realise that Burger King is Hungry Jacks… Just like Safeway/Woolworths

I think he means that by calling it Burger King. So, basically, Hungry Jacks (known as Burger King everywhere else in the world) is better anywhere but here.

  • Who bothers with fast food anymore? If I eat out I'll go to a pub or better yet, make my own lunch. That processed junk it just worthless. I may make an exception for a $7 or $8 meatlovers @ Dominoes. You do know how laughably small everything has gotten? Last I bothered to work there there was let's see, a 7g lettuce limitation and the sauce had to be arranged just so. A dump to work and a dump to eat. All of them here.

  • I think its OP making less money :D

  • Read somewhere that you can't possibly run enough to "exercise off the calories" if you regularly eat HJ Maccas or KFC. That put me off.

  • KFC more expensive than Nandos???

Its all getting too expensive these days.

pub meals are once again becoming a cheaper option.. mainly lunch meals around $12-14 with a drink included.

  • I can get a beer/soft drink and 300g steak at the Lidcombe Hotel for $12.

Far more filling and nutritious than KFC. While I do like KFC now and then it's more of a guilty indulgence rather than economy food.

  • You can still ask for the Streetwise Chicken Combo (two pieces of chicken, drink and chips for $5.95), the combo has been taken off the menu because it's the product that KFC earns the least amount of profit from but it's still available if you ask for it, though if you get a new trainee you'll have to explain it's the chicken combo with the two pieces of chicken.
